Sun Belt basketball schedule for Week 18--Last week of regular season
Last week of regular season is now upon us. Here are the current standings with a week left:

12-5 Texas St.
12-5 Ga. Southern
12-5 Ga. State
11-6 UTA
8-8 Louisiana
8-8 ULM
8-8 Coastal Carolina
7-9 South Alabama
6-10 Ark. St.
5-11 App. St.
5-11 Little Rock
4-11 Troy

This week's games:

Thursday, March 7:
South Alabama at Coastal Carolina
Troy at App. St.
Louisiana at Little Rock
ULM at Ark. St.

Saturday, March 9:
South Alabama at App. St.
Troy at Coastal Carolina
ULM at Little Rock
Louisiana at Ark. St.
Texas St. at UTA
Ga. State at Ga. Southern

All the tiebreakers won't be resolved until after Saturday's games. The top 4 teams play each other Saturday with the Ga. schools and the Texas schools playing each other. This week's games in Arkansas and the Carolinas are big games too in deciding seeding and what 2 teams don't make the tourney. The game in Statesboro vs. Ga. State Saturday is almost already sold out.

Surprised ESPN hasn’t picked up the Southern/State game yet

Drew...ESPN doesn't care who wins the Sun Belt. They don't care about Georgia State or Georgia Southern. They aren't televising the game on a Saturday opposite all the major conference finales.

I guess that’s true. Dumb but true.

About the only things for sure right now is that Texas St Ga St and Ga Southern will all finish in the top 4 and the winner of the Ga State/Ga Southern will be in the top 2

There are 3 teams that can all guarantee a top 2 seed by simply winning on Saturday. There is a 4th that can improve their chances of a top 2 seed significantly by winning Saturday

I've calculated out 9 different possible scenarios with GS/TXST tiebreaker for 1st. There are 6 scenarios in which TXST gets the 1, and 3 scenarios in which GS gets the 1. That's probably the most confusing of the tiebreakers.

The only tie break I am sure of is if CCU is tied with ULM
We swept them

If App beats Troy on Thursday, Troy is eliminated.

If App beats Troy and Little Rock loses to ULM, Little Rock is eliminated as well and the 10 teams are set.

This is correct. Troy is also eliminated in a more wild scenario in which they beat App but both Little Rock and AState win against ULM/UL respectively. It would leave Troy's best possible finish as a 3 way tie with LR and App, or a two way tie with LR, and Troy loses both of those tiebreaks.

I have an NIT auto-bid question:

Let's say, hypothetically, Georgia Southern and Texas State both win Saturday and are co-champs. Then let's say someone not named Georgia Southern or Texas State wins the SBC tournament. Who gets the NIT automatic bid? Does it automatically go to the SBC tournaments #1 seed? What's the NIT tie-breaking procedure when there are co-champs?

Do they even recognize co-champs or do they have their own tie-breaker?

Only one team will get an auto-bid from the NIT. They don't have multiple auto-bids for co-champs. So it has to be broken somehow. I'm like 90% sure they'll defer to the conference and it'll go to the 1 seed, but wondering if someone knows for sure.

This may be a stupid question, but doesn't the Tournament champ get the autobid to the NCAA Tournament?

I'd think that the NIT autobid would go to the next "biggest midget" left standing, No?

I'm pretty sure this is how it goes.

Tournament Champion gets the NCAA bid.

Conference regular season champ as designated by the conference gets the NIT bid unless they are the same as the Tournament Champion. In that case the NIT is not obligated to invite anyone from the conference.

Right. Tournament champion goes to the NCAA tournament.

But the regular season champion has an automatic bid to the NIT if they don't make the NCAA tournament. If the regular season champ and the tourney champ is the same team there is no automatic bid to the NIT.

My question is, if there are regular season co-champs, who would receive the NIT automatic bid if someone like ULM wins the SBC tournament?
