RE: Anyway to watch MBB vs So Miss today? (nm)
How is the staff doing on the filling personnel needs for next year? I saw we have two guys signed I believe but they're both guards, which isnt really a position of need. With Lew and Perry leaving, we really need a big or two and a 3 point specialist that can create spacing on the floor. Are we in on any guys like that? Maybe Ehsan will be looking at the transfer market. Agree with the previous post, unless the holes get plugged for next year it doesnt matter if Ehsan is Dean Smith, we will be limited by our personnel deficiencies.

I think he is a junior and will be back.
Not sure if there is any way he could get a medical redshirt or not.

One of those guards, Jalen Benjamin, is a decent 3 point shooter. He's just undersized at 5'10" 155 lbs. We need a bigger guard and another forward. We're ok at center with Bulter and Jude.

Sounds like Jalen is about the same size as that jitterbug at AU who ran circles around us earlier this year.

Except Jared Harper was a top 100 recruit.

Yes, we should be so lucky. Harper killed us throughout the series.

I have watched numerous games. He is very good. He does remind me of Harper. Not saying he is a Harper, but has a similar game.

He was a 4-star guy, but his offer list consisted of Auburn, Ark State, Brown, Chattanooga & Charleston. Not being afraid to take undersized PGs is how you can get great players. And also being good at scouting is how you can end up with beasts like Scootie & Tavin.
Anyway, excellent win by the team. Does anyone know how the rankings will work? Is the regular season champion already locked in, or is it determined after pod play? NCAA tournament would be amazing, but would even be excited about UAB making it to the NIT just to get some more games.

Regular season champ will be determined after pod play. ODU only has to win 1 more game to get that.
After Person's activity, I wouldn't trust any player on their team as being recruited legitimately.

We have no shot at the NIT under the current format, unless ODU crumbles and we somehow win the regular season.

We had no shot under last year's format either.
If ODU wins the regular season title & the conference tournament then nobody gets the NIT bid & we all would be relegated to the CBI CIT, or whatever else they are called.

I meant the NIT format. We need a top 50ish rating to be under consideration for that tournament given the current climate in college basketball.

I don't even believe that is a given unless you get the auto bid by winning the conference regular season.

Are there any players at the Final 4 that UAB may be recruiting? I'm planning on watching some 5A, 6A, @ 7A games at the BJCC on Wednesday and Thursday.
