Delaware
Obviously this game is the epitome of a must win. 1 for our small bid for avoiding the play-in round and 2 because its Delaware and they beat us earlier in the year. Delaware is a team that can cause us problems, as they did in the last matchup. Their multiple screens and ball movement is a problem for our relatively slow-footed defense. Carter is a handful down low, but we should make him our focus. We need to slow down the guards like Allen, Horton and Anderson. They absolutely lit us up last game when we focused on shutting down Carter. We doubled him often and got bit by it often as they have good enough ball movement to make us pay for a double team.

They run a short bench so on offense, attack attack attack. Make them commit fouls. This should be a game where Harper should be able to shine. Ali needs to get to the basket as well. This game to me should be a man-to-man game. Delaware likes to bomb 3's so lets not encourage them to do so like we did last time. I actually do not feel good about this one. I think their ball movement is a problem for this team. I see us getting down again and fighting back but falling short. Delaware is definitely a team that cannot close our games for the life of them.

RE: Delaware
Despite having Carter, Delaware has fewer rebounds and blocks than their opponents. Their assist/turnover is 1.10 compared to 1.29 for their opponents.

RE: Delaware
This game is going to be tough now. Hopefully we can rally and see what the young players can do to finish this season. With any setback, there is always opportunity. Hopefully our players are up to the task.

What do you mean? We know only three CAA teams have many fans here. Are you trying to say that many Drexel fans are on other message boards?

http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-bask...as/?s=1026 says the line went from 4 to 3.

The game will be on NBC Sports Philadelphia, NBC Sports Washington+, and SNY. I'm DVRing it. I'm going to Hofstra today.

I wish more of our community posted here versus just lurked, but thats not the case. In any case this will be a huge challenge and a must win for any slim chance at avoiding the play in game.

Dan10 and JB are keeping it alive. It’s a sign of the times. Appreciate their efforts because hopefully one day there will be more to talk about.

Like a big Drexel win over Hofstra :)

RE: Delaware
nice win i got to see on tv. good promotion today for the people who saw it in person. it seems like there has been more effort as the season has gone along.

for all the talk about spiker being an up/down coach who wouldn't play much defense...he definitely has shown a willingness to slow things down knowing he doesn't have the horses to play that style.

i never want to see anybody get hurt but losing harper for the season was not the worst thing. wynter was a different player from last week. i'd rather have a freshman try to put the team on his shoulder down the strethc.

Big win especially down Harper. Cam was great. Matey really stepped up. He energy was contagious tonight. It was a good opportunity for Matey and Doles too getting more minutes. Good opportunity to see into next year. Always fun beating Delaware, even better doing it as injured as we were.

RE: Delaware
Well it was hush, hush, yesterday, but an hour before the game it was officially announced that Troy Harper broke his foot and would be out for the season, which is what dan10 was cryptic about early in the thread. Spike mentioned in the press conference that it happened early in the week, so they did a good job of keeping it quiet. Tough break for Troy as he's really given it everything this year, and has had a great season.

However, Troy's injury could be another addition by subtraction situation. We now really got to chance to see what Wynter can do tonight, and he was fantastic in leading the Dragons to a huge win.

This was as critical a game as ever. It's always great to beat Delaware, but this one was especially sweet considering the news about Harper.

Great crowd once again, on a day where there were home games for Temple, LaSalle, Penn, Sixers, and the Flyers hockey game in the rain tonight at the Linc. Student section was pretty closed to filled, though I'd like to see a little more passion out of the students outside of the 20 or so in the actual DAC Pack. Delaware was making a comeback late and shooting some huge free throws. The students are not taking advantage of the home court advantage and most are way too busy sitting on their asses quiet when we need them most. But at least they're showing up, so I'll give them that much.

I don't think we have the offense tho without Harper... and ofcourse it has to be our start offense player who gets hurt. Any chance we get lee back during champweek?

All indications is Kurk is done for the year too. However did you watch yesterday? Our offense for most of the game actually had flow to it and we were moving and looked competent. Much less standing around waiting and playing ISO ball. It does suck for Harp and he did give his all every time he stepped on the court, but for the better of the team I agree it is addition by subtraction. Matey rally stepped up yesterday.

this isn't meant to be a comment about the dac pack...since we should just be glad students show up at all...but...

i feel like the student section is dying. i've been to 10+ high school games in central pa the last few weeks. i have yet to see a good student section. they just stand there. if they say anything...it's the dreaded "you can't do that".

even worse...there seems to be this tradition of having a group of fans from one school sit in the opposing student section. they're basically asking to get their butts kicked but of course in today's society putting somebody in their place makes you the bad guy. camp hill security chased some kids from the kutztown student section which was awesome.

there was a fight after the william penn-muhlenberg game last night. i wasn't there thankfully but the video shows the student sections taunting each other. they're having to play the 5a consolation game closed to the public. i believe it's the second time this year william penn has to play in a closed game.
