I would think it means they at least hit the $8 million floor. As you pointed out, why mention the contract if it is going to be disappointing?

I'm pretty sure those were the dream numbers. We'll see what the actual, non dream, numbers are in a week it seems.

Meh- if the dream numbers were $8-12, and the number is $6-7M- my guess is Memphis President would be happy.

I believe the Memphis president has been very aggressive in his desire for the AAC to cut a good deal. If he is pleased then I am pleased,

I remember how Aresco spun the ESPN deal as good. The idea here of good being very subjective. Guess we will see what "pleased" actually means in a week.

They got this done real quick. I would have liked them to shop around if it was less than $10 Mil. Then and again, ESPN could have said "$7 Mil, best and final. If you go to market, we drop it."

$6 Mil would be okay for a Tier 1 package, not all in.

I think if it were a take it or leave it offer the AAC would have waited until the last day to accept it.

Lowballing would've led to a long dragged out negotiations leading to the open market. A quick all inclusive deal signals that something good for the AAC came to fruition, so much so that all of the presidents signed off without delay. That's my opinion.

Thoughts and questions:

Not educated on TV stuff. Can AAC give ESPN Tier 1 and Championship game and take other to open market? What realistically can they get on open market for Tier 2-3 and rights to other sports?

Say ESPN pays $4-6 mill. Can you get $2-3 in a "a la carte" type offering?

Expecting 5-6mil

Surprised if 10mil

GoR was probably only an extra 1mil anyways
