This can't be stated strongly enough. Increased security at points of entry is fine but inevitably it will cause many of those seeking entrance to utilize less protected border areas. A wall stops that and forces potential illegals to seek other riskier means of entry.

Another point to consider is if there is another shutdown, I don't think the workers who are effected are going to be as patient this time around. I'm hearing grumblings already that some of them (TSA workers, Air Traffic Controllers) may go on strike.
