Last year, the difference between the best defense in the CAA and the worst defense in the CAA was 13.5 ppg.

This year, UNCW is not only in last place in PPG allowed, but we give up 6 points more than the second worst defensive team and 17 points more than the best defensive team.

For those wondering if our defense has improved the last few games.

Defensive efficiency:

We are the 4th worst team in the NCAA for the season at 1.14. Worst in the naton is 1.168

Last 3 games we are the 24th worst in the NCAA at 1.168. Worst in the nation was 1.308.

Last game against Delaware we were at 1.074. If we were at 1.074 for the year, we'd be #304 in the nation.

The game against JMU is still included in the last 3, so could skew us negatively. We'll see how we do against NU and Hofstra this week....

In fairness, this is really the first sign of any improvement on that front all year long. This week will be telling, as we know NU will push the pace.
