Trump doesn't need defending. He is doing an excellent job.

What was German arrested for on the 17th if the last was a suspended license?

I believe he had two tickets for driving on suspended license. One in January and one in February. One from NIU police and one from Dekalb police. I guess at this point it really doesn’t matter he has to be classified as a negative influence on the team.

RE: German Suspended
At this point NIU and German should part ways. The kid has had and blown multiple "second" chances and the integrity of the basketball program and NIU athletics is at stake.
Monty needs to move on as well as soon as his contract is up or sooner if NIU can afford it. For what ever reasons the program has not progressed and Monty has had more than enough time.

Time to move on from Monty. Listening to post game after previous loss he seems more frustrated than ever. At the Toledo game it looked like maybe 5 students in the student section. Just no energy at all for MBB. I would like to say I knew of a great prospect that would bring energy to the program. Hopefully STF can make such a find when the time comes.

The time to have moved on from Monty was after the 2014-15 season when his overall record was 39-84 (.317) and his MAC record was 22-46 (.324) after four seasons. It was virtually impossible not to do better than Ricardo Patton.
In 2015-16, thanks to the single worst schedule in Huskie men's basketball history, Monty managed to go 21-13 and post his best MAC record of 9-9 followed by NIU wasting money buying a slot in the Vegas 16 --- the Fyre Festival of college basketball tournaments.
Everything since then -- meaning up to the present -- has just been a slight elevation of the initial mediocrity; to date: 100-145 (.408) / 49-84 (.368). Nothing in these eight years has truly merited an extension.

RE: German Suspended
Geno has received mutilple chances from the coaching staff. He just continues to show that his maturity level isn’t what it needs to be at this level. Lucky for him it hasn’t been anything beyond just being a jacka$$.
But getting 2, 3, 4 shots at stopping being a jacka$$ and continuing your jacka$$ary just shows continues to show that you are indeed a jacka$$.
Monty may as well just ride with the rest of his crew into the conf tourney minus the jacka$$.
Xoxoxo

The Vegas 16 which ended up being the Vegas 8. Even ISU turned them down saying it a waste of money. Some how SF justified spending the money.
The Vegas 16 lasted ONE year. SF should start his own tournament and call it the DeKalb 16.

How bad of driver must you be to get pulled over twice in a month?
Then again to continue to make the same mistake over and over sounds like he needs a break to get things right.
Wait. Didn't he get busted for throwing eggs at some girls around Halloween or am I remembering someone else?

I think the danger Montgomery has fallen into now is that his system obviously did not work at NIU for a long time. In the past 1 or 2 years, he has tried to adapt and finally break out of the MSU system, but at this point I think he has no conviction in anything he is preaching and it shows. I am not sure he had a backup plan for his brand of basketball not translating to success at NIU.

RE: German Suspended
Oh, the misery of being an NIU fan/supporter.
How great were things three weeks ago? Oh, the momentum.
1. Carey leaves
2. Hammock hired
3. Hammock introduced......STF’s shining moment over the past five years!
4. Men beat Buffalo.....Monty’s shining moment—ever!!
And then——-SCREECH!! HIT THE BRAKES——WHEELS COME FLYING OFF!!! DANG!!
Loss, loss, loss, arrest, arrest...ticket, etc.
From the hopes of a bye to Cleveland to will we win another game in the blink of a flashing light. Dang, just dang.
And again back to STF——personally, to me, time to suspend German for the remainder of the season and allow him to take his game to Europe or somewhere else (sorry, not near NBA material in my mind—but I’m no expert).
Even with all the defections and losses over the past few season, I really thought that we had a chance to maybe even make the semis in the tourney this year (yes, biased), but now, please, let’s just do the right thing.
And everyone, let’s go out there and support the women....despite injuries they are very competitive, have a likeable bunch and are really fun to watch because they really do play hard.

Not that it means anything, but I project NIU out to a 9-9 record and a 6 seed. Still hosting a home first round game! Of course, this 9-9 projection does not take into account German's absence.

I guess what's frustrating is NIU is located in a premier location for basketball talent. We have an outstanding convocation center. And, unlike football, there isn't an artificial system that prevents us from the opportunity to play in a national championship. In other words, if we had the right coach, we could be a Gonzaga, Georgetown, Villanova, etc that doesn't need to ve in a major conference to have a legit program.

We need to have a reality check.
There is no way NIU can compete financially with a Big East program.
According to data Villanova reported to the U.S. Department of Education, its men’s basketball team, which plays in the Big East conference, generated $11.4 million in revenue on expenses of $9.4 million.
Marquette and Villanova utilizes a private jet for recruiting. NIU has access to rental cars.
NIU basketball recruiting budget a coupe of years ago was $45,000. ISU was at $116.000.
Good read on recruiting budget on the big boys and us. Private schools are not included.
