Robinson flipped to Kansas, Merritt signed with FAU, Elder With Charlotte.

Clearly looks like we missed out on better talent than we signed in December because we didn’t have spots left.

Richmon Singletary from Elba (team mate of Alex Wright) signed with UAB today as a scholarship player, according to the Dothan Eagle. Looks like a 6 foot 180 lb safety/RB. Had never heard his name associated w UAB before today.

Coach said that we had several guys in the bag that he could not talk about since they were not signed/had issues. Mentioned that a couple of guys were going to have to start in JUCO.

Abrams, Conner, Fair, Lucero, McDonald, Damien Miller (but not his brother), Penn, Revels, Rykard, Simmons, Larry Smith, Swoopes, Trehern, Wells, Wright.

So, is it just me, or was yesterday the most unusual signing day experience ever for UAB football fans?

I realize the process is not yet complete for several players and they probably cant talk about blueshirts.


The brief video clips from the signing day event contain little information. Did they talk about the signees?

Im still not clear on who all signed a scholarship and who is a blue-shirt and which are PWOs. Did we get the tight end out of GA? How about the RB from Pensacola? The JUCO DE? Any transfers? Has the university released any info yet, as is usually the case in signing day?

I suspect the new early signing period was where we made the most progress.

In doing so, the later signing period may have been used to fill needs here & there.

But yes, it was quite different than what you would expect.

This makes the most sense, and I think many of us figured that was what was happening about mid afternoon yesterday. Clark is always prepared, so I'm not concerned at all, it was just a really odd day.

I'm from Elba and got a PM last night (Wednesday) from Ricky Mularz, the sports editor for The Elba Clipper indicating Richmon was headed to UAB. That makes two former Elba Tigers on this year's roster!

Well, it's not on UAB's site & it certainly as hell isn't on al.commie's site from what I can find.

An interesting note from last night - no discussion of Jordan Smith. He wasn’t listed as a December signee on the sheet they handed out. I wonder if something happened with him academically or if he has already left the team? I was very excited about him at the jack LB position.

After this year's signing period is completed, what will be UAB's class standing line up for this time next year? EX: How many rising seniors will be exiting the program after next season?

I counted 22 juniors and/or redshirt juniors on the roster.

Some may have left after the season due to graduation.

We may have a graduate transfer or two come in. Just throwing the possibility out there, no knowledge of such happening though.

Would leave a decent number of seniors leaving after next season.

Clark may have a couple that he is holding out for late late signees as well.

Were you at the signing event? If so, did Clark talk about any signees beyond those who signed in Decembers early period?
