With the 2019 NFL Draft soon approaching, I was wondering if Max Scharping has a chance to be the highest draft pick NIU has had. So, since I know others here know NIU history very well, my question is:

Who have been some of the highest selected Huskies in the NFL Draft (give me the Name, Year, Round.... for example : K, Galloday, 2017, 3rd round)?

I believe these are the two highest from NIU.

Larry English- 2009 Round 1 Pick 16
Jimmie Ward- 2014 Round 1 Pick 30

DE Larry Brink went to the Pro Bowl in 1950 and 1951 and was named All-Pro in 1950, 1951, and 1952. He also won an NFL Championship.

He may need to be on the list.

Tom Wittum was a two-time Pro Bowl punter for the 49ers. I believe his career was cut short due to car accident. He made the Pro Bowl in two of the five seasons he played.

Was Hollis Thomas drafted? He played for a long time.

Clarence Vaughn was on 2 Super Bowl teams and played for 5 years. However, his individual stats weren’t great. Todd Peat’s sons have some great careers.

Love Doug Free, but Diem has a Super Bowl ring. Clarence Vaughn has one too from the Redskins. He was kind enough to let me try it on - Great Guy.
