The whole thread is a bit callous. But some of it is humorous.

I don't think it is callous. I think it is unfortunate. Ginsburg holds a lifetime appointment to one of the most important institutions in our nation. When she goes over 50 days without a public appearance, that is concerning. If she isn't capable of serving and her work is being done by her clerks, than we have a big problem. Her clerks do not hold her position and have no business deciding cases that will impact the nation for years to come.

At this stage of her recovery she should be able to make a public appearance, and she should be able to sit on the bench on Feb 19th, when the court again hears oral arguments. She should also be at the State of the Union Address.

RE: 54 days since the public laid eyes on Ruth Bader Ginsburg
We had 8 justices on the court for about 14 months after Scalia died. Ginsburg is still ruling on cases supposedly (and I think someone would have uncovered it by now if that wasn't true).

I think everyone can give her some more time to recover. The bottom line is she's either going to pass away or be recovered enough to get back on the court before late spring is my guess. And we'll know which one it's likely to be before spring begins (probably). TMZ probably will have the scoop soon - they seem to get all the best scoops before any news network anyway.

Ginsburg may not like Trump but she respects the hell out of the Supreme Court. And she's not going to lessen the reputation of that institution by pretending to rule on cases if she's on her deathbed (unless others are doing that for her). I've read the single reason she didn't retire during Obama's presidency is not because she wanted Clinton to pick her successor; but rather because she felt Sandra Day O'Connor was forced to retire before she was ready. I'm sure she now regrets that decision, but it's too late to do anything about it now.

in before CLOSED....lmao...I've found it to be a good read playing ping-pong from OP to discussing moderation (in one where a moderator responded)......notice how I've stayed away from the Hyde secition....

until NOW dammit.... 03-wink

it would be pretty easy for GTS to code 'new thread button' that would yield forcing the user to check box L or NL (link or no link)

if L, then status quo
if NL, then flag it NL somewhere so the user is aware....fuckkkk a wwe board....
all 'new reply button' clicks would be unaffected

it's a fairly simple solution on the same board vs. having to move through menus....

like the ignore feature which is weak (and I choose to ignore no one), it gives the user the right to choose to click ahead of time....

it's akin to prefacing a new thread with "OT" on the sports boards....

jmtc on this bs....

a quick search only shows 'insider' info....

but yeah, it's pretty much a given at this point....

she's 85....it's almost impossible her surgery would ensure success moving forward....

I expect a nominee to emerge in the next couple of mos...

if they're doing it to simply keep her on life support??? .... well, one can only imagine what nuts zongo would say.....

RE: 54 days since the public laid eyes on Ruth Bader Ginsburg
How long can she be out sick before she is removed/replaced because she is unable to fulfill the duties of her job? her law clerks have been acting in her stead...her law clerks were not nominated to the SCOTUS.

I've wondered if RBG and the Democrats are so desperate to not have Trump name her successor that they would keep her "alive" on life support rather than letting her pass for the sole purpose of keeping her seat filled long enough for the democrats to claim it is too close to the 2020 election to nominate a successor.

back on topic...
I'm not saying this is proof... but it does seem weird.

#26 : https://www.searchquarry.com/namesearch/...&state=all

Martin Ginsburg was her husband, but he was only 78.

So...
How would that end up in the database of a public records search if its fake?
How would they let that end up in a public database if its real?

I could whip that site up in a week with my eyes closed....

w/o being a trusted site, anyone could add one to any database....

I want to see an official statement...........yesterday!

it's amazing how this is being ignored across the board.....NOBODY is broaching this 'sensitive subject matter'...............FK THAT....

Wow. That's weird. Is that site a legit source for records?
How many Ruth Ginsburg's could there possibly be in D.C. much less 85 year old Ruth Ginsburgs?

Could she possibly already be dead and they are keeping it out of the news? It doesn't seem like it would be possible to do that.

Maybe she's going for Francisco Franco's record.

My question is "who is making her decisions for her on the court?"

I know businesses that use that site for doing background checks.
Thats the only reason it peeked my curiosity.

However another thing I overheard today... someone commenting that they wondered if Pelosi's State of the Union refusal was just an attempt to keep Ginsburg from not having "to cancel", as it would raise obvious questions of why she is canceling if she was 'making a full recovery' over a month ago.

If ya think about it, the question of Ginsburg was starting to pick up momentum... then boom... anything not related to the shutdown was not covered... then catholic kids was all they would talk about... then when that was shown to be false... back to shutdown
There was the attempted story about the 'Empire' star and the MAGA country story, but that died since it was blown out of proportion so much that it didn't represent the truth anymore.
The last few weeks have been non stop go-go-go from the media about things to enrage people.

kinda makes one wonder about that Fox "slip-up" the other week.

I hate 'em all...but that is shocking....

not even Hannifag or Rushdouche is touching that one...

I can't figure it out 'xcept it's all (as always) been about 'pocket pool'...

toss in the NY/VA state faggoo's trying to murder at dilation, and I'm to the point of #COSTA regardless....

**** the monkees....

line 1b) is still winning the race of electrolytes....

I live in dumbwtf land.....all it took was the boomers to really begin to die off....

Yes, they absolutely would do that. After everything they've done to try to take Trump down, I am convinced there is nothing they will not do to hold onto that SCOTUS seat.

There is NOTHING Leftists would not do for power. It's in their DNA. They want absolute power and nothing less than that will do.

trump should negotiate the appointing of a centrist supreme court justice in return for a sizeable increase in spending on the border (more than the 5 billion he is asking for). He already has a simple majority in the supreme court and this could be a carrot to at least provide some kind of moderate cooperation moving forward.

No carrots at this point. You don't give in to the Democrats - ever. The are pure evil. Rake em over the coals every chance you get because they sure as hell would do it to you.
