Yikes. We didn’t need recruits to witness that debacle

Lol. Yep, we know the upperclassmen have little to no chance of starting next year. A damn shame.

Then play better. I’m not opposed to bringing in young talent that is better than upper classmen.

Hawks have 3 grants available now. Do you would think that they go after a guard/wing defender/slasher and 2 more bigs?

We better find some players that can put the ball on the floor and go to the rack and/or some actual defenders.

I really like the Tatum kid from Cape Fear CC. He fills the box score nearly every game and seems like a well rounded player. I don’t know how good his defense is but I’d imagine he’s gonna be a top target. The Elmore transfer leaves a lack of depth in the front court IMO. Is Linsen going to be good enough to start at the 5 next year? Look for them to go after a grad transfer similar to O’Connell... other than that it’s hard to predict where they’ll go.

I like him a lot and I think he would bring a level of toughness that they could use. I am not sold on his 3 pt shooting but his shot looks fundamentally good and should improve. Hard to say about his on the ball defending simply because jucos don't really guard anybody. If you watch the NCSU play this year you will see guys that don't guard and can't but they cover it up with a press and try to speed the game up to get more chances to score. I don't care for that at all but it can win you a few games you would normally lose if you make shots.

Including seniors I will make an educated guess and say we are minus 7 players next season. 2 slashing wing defenders and two mobile bigs would be nice additions.

We're currently at -5, with 2 of those spots filled by LOI commits Imaje Dodd and Jake Boggs.
So you think 2 more players will transfer out? Interesting.

I agree. I think we lose 2 more to transfer.

I’d like to hear more about the educated guess, honestly. Especially since these “transfer” posts have become more frequent in the last week.

While I think he's referring to Taylor and Fornes, I don't think we'll lose both of them. I really hope he doesn't think one of them is Toews, that would be a demoralizing loss for our program at this point.

It's natural to have the discussion since we just had an announced transfer of Elmore and Gary tranferred out as well. The problem on this board is any dose of reality is met with hostility.
Players usually transfer for two reasons. Lack of playing time or better opportunities at better programs, especially when your team isn't performing well. Think Adam Smith. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure who the two may be. BTW, purely speculation based on history, logic and common sense.

Adam Smith went similarly like others, most recently CJ Bryce. Stud players at this level who were sold that they could be the same in a top tier P6 conference but never really amount to anything more than an average roll player. I understand having a new coach is tough. I understand not winning as much as you’re used to is tough. Sometimes though, overcoming adversity instead of quitting makes the better man. Exhibit A: Devontae Cacok.
I’m not cramping on the discussion of transfers. I was looking more closely at the wording involved, specifically “educated guess”. If I were to use the term “educated guess” at work or any other place really, it would insinuate that I have some level of inside knowledge. That particular piece of the post coinciding with other posts is quite telling to me.
Some may think that I and others here, how was it put?... “have their heads buried in the sand”, however I can assure those who think so don’t know me well.
