UNT: Graham Harrell New OC at Southern Cal
Littrell's turnaround of North Texas is starting to lead to some of his coaches getting bigger opportunities. Choice, the RB coach has left for his alma mater Georgia Tech, and now Harrell may be headed to Southern Cal.

I don’t blame him if he goes, but I hope he stays. I think Helton is gone next year if he doesn’t get things turned around (8 or more wins), so it would be a one year gig. I would think he would be next in line if Seth leaves, which I would expect in the next year or 2 if things go right.
Also saw the Ok st is looking at him.

Not official yet, but he is gone. It will be interesting to see where North Texas looks to find his replacement.

Sucks for y’all. Did he do all of the play calling, or was it a combo effort with Seth?

His development of young QB talent was his strongest quality. His in game play calling was not. North Texas had a good season, but it should have been better. Harrell and Littrell had their offense shutdown in the second half of too many games down the stretch. I wish Harrell the best in his new position, but I see this as an opportunity to upgrade, if we are smart with finding a replacement. I think their are other more talented OC's to be poached.

Wow. You’re much closer to the program, but those are harsh words.
I just checked your board, and some of those names seem way out there, so it will be interesting who y’all get.

Not trying to be harsh, just honest in my assessment of where UNT is at the moment. In the past our leadership has not been properly motivated to fix problems until enough fans highlighted them to the point they became embarrassed and had to make the necessary changes. I believe North Texas us on the right path, but the fact is right now UNT's biggest weaknesses are offensive collapses in the second half of games, and lack of recruiting and developing our offensive and defensive linemen. If we can address both of those issues, we could be a very good G5 program. Littrell is a smart man, and I believe he will get both issues resolved before heading out for greener pastures. That's my opinion anyway.

Graham Harrell will be a sought after HC in the years coming. Just remember you are UNT and the next up and comer that UNT hires will likely leave for a P5 job.
Good luck keeping Seth although I think UNT is safe as long as Lincoln stays in Norman.

I agree. He is smart and should fix his adjustment issues and develop into a good head coach. The players loved him. No program can keep their coordinators if they are good. Even Bama has to go find new coordinators. It is the price good programs pay for being successful.
I also agree that Littrell seems very happy at North Texas, and will probably stay until Riley moves on from OU, or that job is no longer a possibility for him. Hopefully he will have fixed our remaining issues and leave after establishing UNT as a G5 juggernaut. One can dream.

I'm happy 1 of our best QB's is getting a chance to shine on the P5 stage in California as OC for USC.

I'm happy for you that you've won games in the past. I'm sorry that you guys can't seem to win games since firing Leach.
The $2.1 million a year we receive from ESPN every year has produced some really fun seasons. Thanks for the cheers.
