I agree. I think four wins guarantees us a top five spot. Three might get us in, but we can’t count on that. I’m really worried that one of these MTSU games isn’t going to go our way. I hate playing a team back to back like that.

#1 seed if tournament was tomorrow!
Pretty good for a team whose fans gave up in November on them.

They also said Bryant is a ball hog. Lol. I

Yeah, the Bryant criticism was absolutely nuts. Bryant is our star, and he showed why tonight. I’m thankful to see a team improving as the year goes on, and learning to find ways to win games. We are getting it done missing one of our key pieces too. The future is starting to look pretty bright for this bunch.

RE: Rice
Doing what we are supposed to do, beat teams such as these. I may have been irrational with my expectations given so much roster turnover in the offseason, being young and inexperienced coming in.

I don’t think we’d be in this good of position without making those moves after last season. The ones we had transfer out were exactly the ones I thought we needed to rid of. In spite of the performance in Nonconference, I am pleased with where we sit now and honestly I expected us to be here given I have no respect for our league.

RE: Rice
When CUSA realigned most recently and we lost Memphis, UCF, Houston, etc my thought was: ok we lost our bell cow but the league should have more depth with WKU, ODU and Charlotte to go along with us and UTEP. All programs with a decent pedigree. It just seems like since we've all joined together everyone has just kind of underachieved or at least not met the expectations of their fans, us included. It's strange to me.

What are the scenarios if @MTSU is called for weather? Kinda iffy at this point w/ maybe lingering effects of snow/ice

RE: Rice
Going 4-0 since Butler got hurt is surprising. It's forced us to play a more guard heavy lineup and shrunk the rotation by one. But maybe a guard heavy lineup is what we needed. I think we'll miss Butler the most when we play WKU having to guard Bassey.

Butler is a huge part of what we will do next year. But, things appear to be heading in the right direction, which is way more than anybody could have said ten games ago.

North Texas is hosting the tournament again.

You had a couple of different players step up last night as well outside of Bryant.

Ok what's to hit us Tues, however bad it may end up being, must not be getting to them. I would have thought it'd be worse for them being more north than us.

UTSA hit 6 of 7 from three and had 22 points in 3 minutes

Wallace had 29 points. He was 9-15 from three. Jackson had 21 points.

UTSA was 16-31 from three for the game - 51.6%. Jeepers!

UTSA went crazy from three. ODU threw the ball away and missed several shots near the basket. Jeepers!
