RE: @Delaware
really nice showing by the dac pack today. i'm not sure if they're current students and for all i know they could be 5 years out. whoever they are i hope they come onto the boards to replace people who left. hopefully we give them something worth talking about.

Those were all current students. Good kids too. Fun story:

They had a banner that read: "We got 34 problems but your lead aint one" that they rolled out during the player introductions. A family of Delaware fans sitting behind us realized that they were in for at that point and got up and moved.

Security came over after player intros and told them that they were not allowed to have signs and he was going to have to take it. They rolled it up and begrudgingly handed it over. The security guard, who was professional and polite, told them that he'd have it waiting for them at the front door on their way out. Sure enough: on my way out the door there it was sitting at the table waiting for them.

Kudos to the staff at the Bob.

RE: @Delaware
The Delaware announcers said that sign on air and laughed themselves and gave our students props for it. That is good that the staff acted that way. Especially for a rivalry. Glad to hear there was a good turnout. Early and late they could be heard clearly on the stream.

I disagree about our defense being bad. Even when they were draining 3's at a stupid high clip. We made them work hard for those shots. Yes they were open but our shifts were good, but after about 7 passes it is hard to stay in perfect position. That is a kudos to Delaware as opposed to a shot at our defense. There were a couple times where we doubled the block that seemed unnecessary since we had good position and that forced us out of position elsewhere, so obviously we dont have faith in our 1-1 man defense down low. But when shots stop, falling you have to be able to capitalize on your own and we did not do that well until the late flurry.

Harper knew what he did. That's why as soon as he tripped him he got up and went straight to the bench after the whistle. He didnt need to look at the ref, because he knew what he did. Was it egregious? No. Intentional? Absolutely. He just lost his cool today period. He was not getting his reckless calls in the lane and he did not know how to react. I thought UD actually played strong defense against his drives and stayed in good positions, so in that case I thought the refs did fine.

RE: @Delaware
I am with Medik, we just did not want it. To me down 4 with a minute to go and Delaware in full collapse mode, why did we stop doing what was working? That Demir 3 at the top was just a stupid shot to take. That followed another stop/turnover and then John fired away. A 3 was not needed, not even close. Not sure we we lost track of time or what but after getting everything at the basket, it was curious to start heaving 3's.

Agree. Would be nice to get students to know about here and engaging. Networking is always a good thing. It seems like more of the older folks are back around again, whether doing podcasts etc. it would be nice to get them back involved on these boards as well, instead of just lurking. The more people who are engaged the more discussions that can be had as well as different perspectives. It may not be the CAA of old, but it is the CAA we have and we need to accept that and build in the current landscape.
