Already reflected (as unconfirmed) on the original post.

Are all, or any, expected to remain in their previous roles?

In other words, does NIU already have its RB, WR, and S coaches?

Bringing this over from another thread:
(01-23-2019 01:43 PM)DogTracks Wrote:  Maybe meaningless but the Eidsness' OL and WR coaches also started following Hammock, and the OL coach Eck also started following an associate AD here. Others on the offensive staff haven't.

Again, maybe utterly meaningless and them just wanting to keep up with a program they see on the trail that they're buddy took a job at.

There's speculation among SDSU fans that Eck will replace Eidsness as OC.

Anyone know what the OL Coach position pays? Reportedly, Eidsness was set to make $93k this year (assumption being that was a raise from last year) as SDSU OC/QB Coach before taking NIU job. Eck would likely be promoted to OC/OL Coach for roughly that same salary.

Looks like Tripodi was making $103,000. Throw in not having to live in South Dakota, and working in FBS, it's at least a conversation. FBS Assistant Coach Salaries

Eck would be a good addition from SDSU. Wisconsin grad, coaches in the MAC and recruits Wisconsin and Chicago

Thanks.

That's right around what I figured, ~100k, or a slight bump.

Considering that SDSU hasn't made an announcement, coupled with your tidbit of Eck following certain NIU staff, leads me to believe that there may be ongoing negotiations. Perhaps even an offer and/or agreement that has yet to be finalized due to bureaucratic protocol.

You may have something here.

False alarm guys, he has hair. Ha ha.

Jason Eck - SDSU Coaching profile

Quote:He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin under head coach Barry Alvarez and later moved on to Colorado. He also has served coaching stints at Idaho (2004-2006), Winona State (2007-08), Ball State (2009-10), Hampton (2011) and Western Illinois (2012).

Connections to Alvarez (and therefore Hammock and Frazier), the MAC, a team from Illinois, and the cherry on top of it all, Idaho. It's destiny. Ha.

Hammock is putting together an all star staff. Wimberly was assistant coach of the year at the FCS level.

His resume is a bit thin. LBs or Safeties coach, maybe. Coached LBs at Buffalo and Safeties at Liberty.

Sounds like “we” hired North Dakota State’s strength coach which would seem to be an okay hire maybe

Hammock tweeted Melvin Gordon wants to come to a practice, James White just said something on twitter about Hammock and wouldn't surprise Mack comes back once for a game with Wimberly getting hired. Everyone is saying nothing but good things about Hammock.

That's how you promote a program! Rod had zero charisma or desire to do things like this. I know hammock will connect the ex niu players to the program soon too.

I like the Ron zook idea to get into Florida again but would he do it? We desperately need a FL connection! Didn't niu have a GA as special teams coordinator? Mayne not much of a budget for it.
