Possible new bowl location
https://wcti12.com/sports/content/report...me-in-2020

Looks like Greenville NC (ECU) is looking to host a bowl for 2020 and the SBC has interest in signing on. A rotating tie-in with this bowl that could alternate with the Myrtle Beach Bowl would work well.

Possible 2020 Bowls for the belt:

Mobile
New Orleans
Montgomery
Orlando
Myrtle/Greenville

Beats the hell out of travelling to the Bahamas or Hawaii.

I think the players would love to travel to the Bahamas or Hawaii

To play in front of an empty stadium? I think the fan experience is a part of the bowl

Greenville is about an hour from Atlantic Beach, NC and two hours fifteen minutes from the Outer Banks. A bowl in Greenville wouldn't be all bad.

having tons of fans at the bowl would be nice for sure. But I think 18-22yr olds would rather have fun if their votes mattered. Maybe we need more bowls around the Gulf of Mexico or South Miami

I know the Rocket City Bowl(HSV) is in the pipeline to get a game. Were in the talks when they put the ban on new bowl games a couple years ago. They have stated they would like either CUSA/SBC VS Military Academy or SBC VS CUSA.

I can't think of a more desolate place for a bowl than Greenville.

The older, more established and higher payout bowls are in the middle/west portion of the conference. I bet MBB and BBQ bowl will have a Camellia bowl like payout.

I know that we don't have room to be picky, but Greenville is a dreadful bowl destination. Outside of ECU, there is nothing to do and is in the middle of bumf*ck nowhere. Myrtle Beach is great and an ideal place for a bowl, but Greenville is far from ideal or desirable.

The smart bet would be them hosting a BBQ Festival over the weekend with a concert. There are way more than enough BBQ restaurants in the state to enter to give good value to any fan that partakes.

Combine that with the craft brew scene in NC and you have enough entertainment for a weekend and something that locals would be drawn too as well.

Charleston REALLY needs to throw some cash into Citadel's stadium so it's worthy of a game. That would be light years better than Greenville. Even Norfolk/Virginia Beach would make more sense with ODU building their new stadium.
