RE: @ Hofstra (Thursday, Jan 17 -- 7 PM)
Anybody know how the Seahawks will be navigating thier way up north this weekend. Will the flight be chartered? How will they be getting from Long Island to Boston?... More concerned about the latter due to us playing at NOON on Saturday... Yep let's schedule the team making a trip up the entire east coast play the earliest game... Don't know if this is NU making the call or the CAA, but it's BS if you ask me.

Northeastern has a hockey game in Matthews Arena (the same arena they play basketball) at 7 PM that night. That's why the game is early; to give them time to "flip" from basketball to hockey. And since hockey is their # 1 sport, that gets the primetime slot rather than basketball.

That's what we get for Yeager recruiting a Hockey school to a Basketball/Football/Baseball conference.

I had a feeling that was the case. A noon start and maybe 750 people in attendance should provide for a raucous atmosphere!

EvanJ, it's a message board. It's ok to be annoying, at least you provide good statistical analysis... Most of the time...

Yeah, agree. He tends to keep a lot of the homerism stats in check too. EvanJ certainly has a role on the boards and plays it well.
I'm honest. I've made CAA teams of the day with nobody on Hofstra and players on teams who lost to Hofstra. Hofstra has had stars who weren't good shooters. Juan'ya Green didn't shoot well. Wright-Foreman shot okay last season but not Player of the Year level. This season he's a great shooter. Charles Jenkins also improved his shooting. As a sophomore he shot .404, and as a senior he shot .517. What makes it more impressive was that he shot more threes as a senior. Almost one-fifth of his attempts were threes as as sophomore compared to almost one-third as a senior.

UNCW + 11.5 points right now. And, C of C is +3 at NU. Towson at Drexel (-4.5) and JMU at Delaware (-4.5). If I were a betting man, I would go with these teams against the spread:

UNCW
C of C
Drexel
Delaware.

If I had to have my STONE COLD LOCK, it would be Delaware (-4.5) and my 2nd lock would be C of C. The 3rd highest confidence would be taking Drexel. UNCW could go either way, but I would lean UNCW. I don't bet, but think it's fun to see how I would do. What's your picks?

Hofstra is tough for our team. We don't score well against a zone, and we can't stop high scoring guards. Their 3-2 zone creates turnovers as well....AND we're on the road.

Perhaps we've turned a corner, but I don't see us covering the spread.

Toews, Gasden, Estime, Cylla and Cacok to start. Probably our best offensive lineup. Everyone but Cacok can hit the 3 ball.

Also, I have to say, Estime' is really coming on strong. At times, he looks like our best player on offense overall. He can hit the 3 ball, but is really doing a great job getting into the paint.

Cylla is our Kryptonite to their zone. He is the only consistent mid range jump shooter we have.

Do not like the fact Toews gives up on the play when he turns it over.
