Really? We are going to complain about a parade? Using this tactic on a football thread wins no support in basketball. In fact it’s quite the opposite. Maybe it’s not the message being delivered but it’s the delivery of the message that creates so many problems?

You want folks to be supportive yet you start this crap here in a football thread. If you have issues with it send your concerns to Mark Ingram and / or the NCAA. Otherwise please let folks enjoy what has been a historical season. When it happens in basketball I will say the same about anyone doing the same.

I think Alabama ought to award us one if their 17/18 national championships.
As reparations for trying to sink our ship.
They won’t miss one and we could accept and claim it.
1992 would be a good one.
It could just be symbolic mostly.
But a gracious gesture. They were stated to be UAB’s football team so that we didn’t need one.

I would rather they just gave us a few millions $$$ -- to match what they have given some C-USA programs that UAB has to compete against on the gridiron. I hope that one day UAB can pay out such amounts to other programs for filler home games.

At least the Deke Houlgate title awarded in 1941 to a 9-2 Bammer team

ALDoT will partially shutdown 20/59 on Friday to rebuild the bridge.

Not saying theyll use it for this but we could possibly have recruits on campus for OVs as early as 4 on Friday.

The parade was announced by the Mayor. I get the impression it is the city throwing the party, though there's undoubtedly some joint planning with UAB. It will start at the Administration building and go down University to the football pavilion.
I'm going to leave work early to be there. I urge others to do the same.

My schedule is going to have me in Bham so I can go. My only decision will be if I wear a UAB basketball, tennis or baseball shirt.

If they weren't out of town, I'm sure the ladies would have had a float.

Only if we get the trophy too and can install it in the men's room at Bartow Arena.

So does anyone know if there are actually going to be people at this parade?

Besides, they didn't throw one for nether basketball team so title 9 be darned.
If its sour grapes because one team got a parade and another didn't, suck it up.
If football gets us into a better conference then I bet a parade will be the farthest thing from peoples mind.

4 pm on a Friday down University is gonna piss off a whole lot of people trying to get home, though.

No matter how many people we have out there (and frankly, I don't expect a huge crowd), the bammers are going to make fun of it. That's ok. It's a Victory Parade on any number of levels.
