You can't protect children and the NRA at the same time. Until the new guy condemns the NRA, he's not protecting anyone.

And yes, LGBT persons do have a right to vote for a Sheriff that isn't homophobic. But apparently, Ron deHomophobe and the GOP will simply cancel the elections and put someone with a bad history of associations in the role without the consent of ANY of the governed.

Sorry Charlie, 2nd Amendment stays. People aren't afraid of gays either.

what about gays who love the 2nd amendment?

Yes, there are 10 LGBT people, out of about 20 million, that support the NRA and have a gun club. About 12 percent of LGBT voters support the Republicans. Among white Gay men, that number is close to 20 percent (its virtually zero among other LGBT groups). Among white Gay men without college degrees, its close to 25 percent. I know a few LGBT GOPers. I know zero members of pink pistols nor have I ever heard anyone support them.

So, to the 10 or so members of Pink Pistols that are actually out LGBT persons....too bad, you have to comply with the same laws we all do. And if there's going to be some fully constitutional registration requirements, taxes, storage requirements, limits on places it can be carried, or bans on certain types of clips or firearms, then you will have equality in that you will have to comply as well.

they support the 2nd amendment, not the NRA...moreover they have 7000 members and 36 chapters.

Funny, but I live in the Houston area, like Tom, and I have a number of LGBT friends (you don't coach women's rugby without getting to know a lot of lesbians). I would guess that we probably know some of the same people (not counting his cousins that I grew up with).

I don't know if any are Pink Pistols members or not. But know that several have CCLs and I know that several have gay pride stickers on their cars right next to "Come and Take It/Molon Labe" stickers, so I'm guessing there are a bunch that are either members or sympathetic to the cause. It's probably not a representative sample (female rugby players who come largely from small Texas towns) but it's more than 10 in my small anecdotal sample. I don't think the LGBT community is nearly as monolithic in its beliefs as Tom seems to believe.

Nothing in this world is as Tom seems to believe it is.
