Charley just summed up the second half "a comedy of errors". I've got to feel that the game Thursday is impacting us in the second half.

NU has made 17 of their 25 shots this half.

This seems pretty indisputably true? He made an (accurate) observation. He didn't attack anyone. Didn't say he was no longer supporting the team. STOP MAKING EXCUSES! Northeastern also played overtime Thursday and then had to ride on a bus from Elon to Williamsburg while we were at home. If we are so tired, how come Quinn and Jihar get no minutes in the game today? I know Shaver gets a lifetime pass around here because of the Swenson/Boyages era, but the coaching and player development this year has been suspect at best. Take advantage of the week off and get ready for Elon.

The discrepancy today was mental. NU came off an OT win, the Tribe a triple OT loss. You could sense this coming, particularly with an outstanding disciplinarian coach like NU.

Finished up 7 of 8 from the floor. Unfortunately, that followed a 7 for 24 stretch preceding it.

During that period Northeastern went 17 for 23.

Tired bodies cause problems, but they now have a week to get ready for Elon. No excuses next Saturday.

It’s never good to lay a big egg at home; especially on a Saturday. That said; we got caught with our pants down, reeling from the prior loss. We need some internal leadership.

A few of you find it difficult to say anything good but you're ready to go when we lose. Before this game, we were #3 in the conference...it's not about me being a blind homer, it's about 3 or 4 of you being complete toolbags every single time we lose.

Facts are facts. Shaver himself said we were not a good team today. Furthermore Shaver said the team yesterday had the worst practice that he had seen as a Coach "in his career".

Disappointing game that had too many mental errors but more importantly too many times the players did not even try to run our O. IMO we saw Pierce go to the bench 3 times because of this, Lowe twice, and Audige once.

We have good talent and potential.

We also saw a bunch of starters still in the game way after the outcome was determined ... and that’s something I’ve rarely seen anywhere ... unless a message needed to be sent.

As a team, we are immature.

Nathan is picking up too many ticky tack fouls away from the basket, and I wonder if we’re going to have to keep him in the low post, and run the offense that way.

While it doesn’t show on the scoreboard, I thought the defensive effort was there. The offense, however, is just not in sync (understatement).

Correct. We can have a bad game without being a bad team. Some people get that, some don't.

Tough game. Still have confidence in this team, but those real concerns from the OOC are rearing their ugly heads again. A few specific reactions:

- Our 3 juniors have great talent, but today’s game made it clear just how big the leadership void is. One or more of them need to step up, lead by example this week, and demonstrate the type of effort in practice that will be expected for the rest of the year. Perhaps the team will have a player’s only meeting this week?

- What is going on with Pierce’s first free throw issues? Every single first free throw he shoots barely hits the rim. How does that happen?

- Paul was 1-8 shooting today; 0-4 from 3. Those performances are becoming more the norm than exception for him this year. With his leadership and experience, we just aren’t going to be very good if that’s all we can muster from him. Pretty severe regression from last year.

- Scott is regressing as the year goes on. Was not impressed with his game today. Seems like his head doesn’t stay as sharply focused as it needs to.

- Nate committed 6 turnovers. Had unusual butter fingers (he can usually hold on to everything) and I assume many of the others were from offensive fouls.

- Our passes today were so sloppy. Even those that weren’t turnovers were often off target. Accuracy and crispness of passing is 100% mental.

- I hope Shaver benches guys more aggressively against Elon if they don’t play Tribe basketball.

- LJ needs more run. Even when his shot isn’t falling as well as it did today, he plays with confidence and is a solid defender. And he doesn’t seem to ever hang his head, unlike some of our older guys.

Perhaps Paul is regressing because he is a SECOND YEAR LAW STUDENT!
