To be honest, this thread wasn't interesting until the blunderer came over to discuss how the 2014 Marshall team(wonder how many non and partial qualifiers were on this team?) meant that 2018 Sunbelt wasn't improved, and trending upwards.
Also new topic of note: Don't you find it curious that once the Sunbelt relieved itself of the chaff, and brought in that new hotness, the result has been a Sunbelt renaissance coupled with a large devaluation of CUSA as a whole?
The “Marshall did it first” excuse is lazy at best. Sunbelters are overly active with the trash talk on the CUSA boards.
Yet, here you are on SunBelt board.......
On a topic about CUSA. Who would’ve thought the CUSA section of the Sunbelt board would have the most activity! It sounds funny but I rarely butt in with smack talk unless invited. You should ask your belt buddies to do the same.
But you have to be ON the SunBelt board to even know that there was a topic about the CUSA to respond to.....
I've never set foot on the CUSA board to have any clue what they are talking about. They could have 50 threads about the SunBelt that I wouldn't respond to because I would never see them.

There are no threads on the Sunbelt, but we do have 50 Sunbelt trolls who are regulars on our boards.

It’s funny because the best thing that ever happened to the Sun Belt was getting rid of your school and the worst thing that happened to CUSA was adding y’all.
That’s cute. I don’t care how our brand travels to Sunbelters, but the FAU brand is on the way up! It feels good to have so many haters. Thanks for joining the club.
In spite of all your trash talk we will still be ahead of you when alignment time comes around.
Whatever helps you sleep at night. Besides one flash-in-the-pan season, you've been mostly deadweight in both conferences you've existed in so far. You've done absolutely nothing in either football or basketball to show FAU belongs in a better conference.
I suppose I should thank FAU for not only getting out of our way in the Sun Belt but also dragging CUSA down and helping make them the worst FBS conference so we look all the better.
Don’t worry, next year we will have two flash-in-the-pan seasons.

Sunbelt #1 among G5 conferences in per-school payout.
Sunbelt: $17.2m / 10 football members = $1.72m per
Mountain West: $20.4m / 12 = $1.7m per
American Athletic: $18.8m / 12 = $1.56m per
MAC: $14m / 12 = $1.17m per
CUSA: $15.6m / 14 = $1.11m per
AVG Ranking:
Mountain West 78.167
American Athletic 80.139
Sunbelt 83.083
CUSA - 91.262
MAC - 92.986
Having 14 members is crushing CUSA.

Thank you to the Big XII for being a big enough name to get the NCAA to allow you to have a championship game at 10 teams so that we too could have one without going to 12 schools.

This conference is in a good spot right now. Decent TV deal money with lots of coverage (CCG had 2 hour preview and an hour post game show on ESPN3 and CCG on ESPN at noon). Good bowl games on Saturdays.

This we agree on. Much rather play in prime time on the Sat before Christmas than at 4PM on a weekday after.

Hmmm.

In order to catch the MWC every Sun belt team must go no worse than 2-2 in OOC play. I’m not sure how everyone's OOC schedule lines up, but the Cajuns can go 3-1 in OOC.

The AAC's total includes a $4 mil bonus for UCF getting the NY6 bid, correct? So outside of that we out perfomed them the rest of the season.

I don't think this includes bowl money. G5 collectively got $86 million of CFP money. $70m distributed evenly, $16m divided up based on performance.
Also not sure how the other 4 divide their bowl payouts. In the Sunbelt it all goes into one pot and gets divided evenly. It doesn't matter if you go to the Cure, the Camellia, or didn't go to one at all. Everyone gets the same amount.
Last year (according to Wikipedia) the payouts for our 5 bowls were New Orleans 925k, Cure 751k, Camellia 250k, Dollar General 1.5m, and AZ Home Loan 413k. Totalling $3.84 million for a per school payout of $384k each.
Let us all bear in mind that last year the Big10 alone received $89 million in CFP money, north of $50 million in TV money, and who knows how much else in bowl money. Even the Big12 raked in $40m in CFP money. So while we're stick measuring with CUSA over a couple hundred thousand more in total payouts there's an ocean between us and the P5s.

Exactly. We're all crowing over pennies. Sunbelt schools pulled in about $2 million each from CFP and bowl money. $2 million is $2 million but let's not pretend its THAT much in the grand scheme of running an FBS program.
Excited about the series with Marshall. I've never been to Huntington so the return trip in a few years will be a lot of fun.
