To be fair, it did specify Go5 schools, and with the Go5 locked out of the CFP, it's Go5 off-season once the Go5 Access Bowl has finished being played.
Lessee: Kent State should be in a conference with Akron, OhioU, Toledo and Bowling Green ... Buffalo, that's too close to forget and their team this year is making sure they are NOT forgotten ... MiamiU is a really good University, and they are kind of a package deal with OhioU ... going further afield the very best Go5 get in BBall may be UConn, after that UC, and then Temple ... Army would be nice ... there are some Go5 schools in Michigan that would be good gets, so get two or three of those ... not a lot of Go5 schools in Indiana or Illinois, but if there are some of those available, take those as well.
Could call it the "Great Northeast Conference" if we Americans didn't pretend that states 1/6 of the way from the Atlantic and 5/6 of the way from the Pacific were "Midwest" ...
OK:
Kent, Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo, OhioU, MiamiU, UC, Buffalo, Army (maybe FB only), UConn, Temple, a couple of Michigan schools and the odd Indiana or Illinois school, say CMU, WMU, Ball State, Northern Illinois.
Lessee, Divisions:
East have to include Army, UConn, Temple and Buffalo
West have to include Northern Illinois, Ball State, WMU, CMU
Add Kent State / Akron to the East, Toledo / Bowling Green to the West
East: Army, UConn, Temple, Buffalo, Kent State, Akron
West: Northern Illinois, Ball State, WMU, CMU, Toledo, Bowling Green
So I guess the BotB schools in the East and UC in the West:
East: Army, UConn, Temple, Buffalo, Kent State, Akron, OhioU, MiamiU
West: Northern Illinois, Ball State, WMU, CMU, Toledo, Bowling Green, UC
Need an 8th team to round out the Western Division. Marshall is nearby, but they aren't a good institutional fit. NDSU would be a great fit if they could move to eastern Wisconsin. Lessee, there's EMU, they've been going bowling recently.
Also, if Army is FB only, would like to balance the divisions out for BBall ... Dayton would be nice as an Olympic-Sports member.
East: Army/Dayton, UConn, Temple, Buffalo, Kent State, Akron, OhioU, MiamiU
West: Northern Illinois, Ball State, WMU, CMU, EMU, Toledo, Bowling Green, UC
