& as one who was attempting to listen to the game on the radio on Jox 2 it was rather hard to pick up close to the arena.

So basically you are saying you were going to ***** and complain no matter what the score.
It just doesnt matter.

RE: Game thread - Ark Monticello
Nothing wrong with expecting UAB to not struggle with a division 2 team at home immediately after losing to an in state rival for the first time, and at home.
. Preconference play, both wins and losses, suggests that this season is likely to be another disapointment for fans who remember Gene Bartow, as well as 40 minutes of hell. We simply do not seem to have an effective distribution of necessary talent and size, and we struggle with core fundamentals like free throw shooting.
They simply do not look like a good team. But I will be glad to be proven wrong.
I want them to be wildly successful, but early returns are not encouraging. Nor were they successful last year with a much more talented team, in a weak conference.
I think its reasonable to question the program direction. Its also reasonable to look for reasons to be optimistic. Yet in spite of being an optimist, Im struggling to find many reasons to be encouraged this season.

I suspect that most of the people commenting on how bad we are did was not at the game, did not watch the game or even listen to the game. They are simply commenting on the score.
I was at the game. We are bad.

I was at the game. The team wasn't ready to play. The team isn't great but not as bad as they looked.
The team still need an identity . They still need to develop for the future.
I was more than disgusted today...but wasn't sure if I should be disgusted with the players or the coaching.
It was ugly but no one will remember how poorly we played but they will remember the win.

So thats where we are now? Just finish in the top four of CUSA? The bar now is so low you need a freaking shovel to dig it up. Every year its "we can just win the conference tournament " like we've done that so often. Care to guess how many we've won in the last 30 years? Anybody?

From what I've seen so far, we will have a hard time finishing any better than the middle of the pack in CUSA.........hopefully, I am off base here.

For those unaware, finishing in the top 4 is no different than finishing first except that you get a nice little trophy and an invite to the NIT.
The goal is to get a first round bye thereby increasing our chances of winning the tournament which is the only way any of us are going to the NCAA.

What are your expectations at this point, honestly? We play in a garbage conference that gets one bid a year. Our OOC schedule isn’t ever strong enough to warrant an at large even if we only lose 2-3 games. It sucks that we are here, but I don’t understand how we can’t look at this objectively and understand what is going on. There are a handful of at larges given to mid majors, at best, and CUSA teams are rarely in contention. This is the worst team we have had on paper in a long time, but these guys have a lot more fight than any team i can remember in recent memory. Finishing in the top four is definitely the goal now. Any shot at an at large is long gone.

My expectation is for UAB to be at the top of this league. If its garbage then we should be on top of the pile.

Maybe he didn’t get what he wanted for Christmas and just took it out on the team.
Whatever it was, I’m sure it was the wrong thing to do in most of your opinions
I was just curious if it was disciplinary, or if we're trying to improve conditioning. If we can't be the most talented team, we might as well be the most well-conditioned team.
