Vote! It's your civic duty.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25521...inty-crazy

Quote:Oakland's suit against the Raiders, the NFL and the other 31 clubs does not seek to block the team's move. It is attempting to get compensation and damages for revenue that it will lose, money that has been invested in the Coliseum by Oakland taxpayers and other costs. The city still has $80 million in debt remaining from renovations to the much-maligned Coliseum. The suit claims that the Raiders and the NFL violated federal antitrust laws when they voted to move to Las Vegas.

Davis had said he would not play in Oakland if a lawsuit ever were filed, and on Wednesday, Badain made good on that, pulling the Raiders' Coliseum lease proposal for 2019 off the table.

RE: Where will the Raiders play their home games in 2019?
I can’t see the NFL approving a temporary move to San Diego, Glendale, or Reno. I would expect them to play in Sam Boyd Stadium, with a backloaded home schedule to keep out of the dreadfully hot days in September and early October, with possibly both a Monday night and Thursday night home game earlier in the season.

It is quite possible a preseason home game could be played in San Diego or Reno, though.

RE: Where will the Raiders play their home games in 2019?
I think the NFL will defer to Mark Davis' desire to have the Raiders' "Vegas premiere" in the new stadium there, and not in the oversized high school stadium way out on the edge of town. They won't make the Raiders play in Las Vegas before the new stadium is open for business.

I also think that the NFL doesn't want the Raiders to play a season in some random location. The NFL will defer to objections from the Rams and Chargers and won't allow a Raiders season in San Diego, and they'll strongly discourage other long-distance moves such as Reno or Glendale. IMO the team will play in the Bay Area until the Vegas stadium is ready, and that will likely be in the 49ers stadium unless there is an early settlement of the lawsuit that the city of Oakland just filed.

RE: Where will the Raiders play their home games in 2019?
I think despite what Mark Davis says about not wanting to give Oakland money that the city will use to turn around and sue him, he really does not want to go through the trouble of moving twice. The lawsuit is going to happen anyway. No point in spending even more money playing somewhere else.

The only thing that will stop the Raiders from playing in Oakland in 2019 will be the city of Oakland itself. If the city thinks it will hurt its lawsuit to let the Raiders play in Oakland in 2019, the city itself may not offer the lease.

It won't be Sam Boyd - would take millions to get security to NFL standards, and as said above, Vegas debut will be at new stadium.
Levi's Stadium would be last choice
Rose Bowl could work, as could San Diego if Rams/Chargers don't veto.

Arizona has already said that they are willing to share State Farm for one season only, given certain conditions

Putting a bow on a pig just means you have a prettier pig.

Can't see how it's the NFL or "Da Ray-das" fault Oakland decided to sink millions into a money pit.

Mt Davis was a terrible renovation.

Looks like it's gonna be one more year "at least" in Oakland.

The #Raiders and the Coliseum Authority have reached an agreement for the team to remain in Oakland for the 2019 season at least and the sides are ironing out final nuances and details of the deal, sources say. It could be wrapped up and presented to the board as early as Friday.

@RapSheet

The #Raiders agreement with the Coliseum Authority is for 2019, but it also includes a team option for 2020 if their Vegas stadium isn’t ready, sources say. The steps should be: Board meeting Friday or Tuesday. Then city council. Then final approval by the March league meetings.

Do I win a prize for picking Oakland? Looks like I was the only one :)

The prize is a Super Bowl Champions t-shirt from the Raiders' next Super Bowl victory. Maybe your grandkids will get to collect that prize. 07-coffee3
