Bolling's house
Not a good look for JMU or Alger. Cronyism.

Might be just me, but I would rather 140k plus rent get added to a head coach's package versus giving it to someone while allowing them to create their own job description.

I guess the board of visitors won't have an issue with the retirement plan Alger offers since they may get the same package in the future.

Yeah - I just read the article. This stinks to high heaven. 03-puke

Really not too funny.

Can we fire the board and Alger?

My goodness - what the hell?

Political appointments.

Would take a lot of public outcry and political pressure to remove board members I’d imagine, unless there is something here that qualifies as criminal. It’s the political wheels in motion, imagine it happens a lot more than you’d expect everywhere in gov’t.

Here’s an example of some of the appointments:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.richmon...1.amp.html

The Board could fire Alger, but in this case, why would they do so?

Cronyism, maybe. Reading between the lines, I don't all that much wrong, pretty common stuff in the business world. However some may want to look more at the author, Patrick Wilson and some of the other stuff he writes about.

Hahaha. Alger looking like dumbo right now.
I used to think he was smart, just too nerdy.

Lots of bad decisions highlighted in that article.

There were concerns from some about Alger's "liberalism". Good to see he's being bi-partisan. 03-lmfao

Is this really that big of a deal? Dont visiting scholars get sweetheart deals all the time due to their connections?

Pretty sure Bolling's kid went to JMU as well.

Yep, I was about to say the same thing. He's a former big name in politics. You think Jim Comey didn't get to write his own job description at W&M?? I bet if a reporter decided to FOIA W&M (or any other school with politician employees) to death they'd find more of the same.
