Not athletics related, but this is pretty huge. It's the largest gift in school history and the cancer center will be renamed the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.

The endowments of all the campuses are centrally managed by the System office who has hired outside fund managers to invest the money. If I did the math correctly, in 2017 they returned almost 25% on a combined $1.3b (pg 127/128: http://uasystem.edu/assets/2018/12/Data-...2018.pdf). That $30m is just a drop in the bucket

We won't always get 25%, but that's a nice return.
