RE: Fairfield
This team has a lot of heart. And it is quite impressive to watch Jason Wade play the 1, 2, and 3/4 spots. At one point playing forward, he was matched up against a guy significantly bigger than him. But I’m most impressed with his toughness as a freshmen. He was mixing it up and not backing down from Fairfield’s monster forward (Kasibabu #13).
Also, Godwin is gaining confidence and hit some exceptional shots. He hit a three fading to his right that was beautiful.

But the people on page 1 of this thread said that could never happen.
Speaking out against people making predictions without bothering to try one for yourself feels a bit weak to me

RE: Fairfield
I don't know if we made them look good, but that certainly didn't look like a 2-win team to me. They were the fastest team we've played yet and they had a couple of snipers and good defense. Honestly surprising they haven't won many games.
As others said already our bigs looked pretty bad. AC and Ezipke were the ones who seemed to be able to hang, and I think Ezipke would've gotten more minutes had he not gotten into foul trouble.
The leadership with Caver and Stith is exactly what we were hoping would happen. Caver had an off night offensively and Stith was able to pick up the slack. Not to mention his extra rebounds as our bigs were struggling. There were a few times he was guarding the shooter then went and got the rebound under the basket.
All in all, think we were fortunate this was a home game. Hoping Syracuse won't be too ugly.

The Fairfield series was only scheduled because St. Bonaventure cancelled a series on us late.

If u look a little closer at Fairfield’s results... they lost almost all those games by a point or two. Definitely not as bad as their record indicates. Tough luck season for them so far...
I thought ODU played pretty well other than the sluggish start. Nice to see Green and Godwin starting to knock down some shots. Jason Wade is a Swiss Army knife out there. Caver struggle to score but played a great floor game. When is Kithcart coming back? Need him so Caver doesn’t play 40 mins. Good game. Go Monarchs!

BJ is a rebounding Dude. We sit in the stands and marvel at the way he goes after them. He isn't the biggest or tallest player on the court but he can go get them. Kudo's to him.

Absolutely. Just think about how much focus you would put on fairfield. Glad the guys stepped up in 2H

Our front court is extremely troubling.
I’ll be very interested to see what the Syracuse line is.

Absolutely...extremely frustrating at times. We're going to need Elbert and Dajour in order to be successful down the road. Unfortunately they were completely lost they entire game.
I sat behind the bench, Jeff was all over Dajour and Elbert throughout the game asking if either of them even wanted to play. It was a very non-PG JJ from the very first timeout after the poor defensive start.

0 points for Dickens, Elbert, and Carver. That cannot happen next week or in conference.

Yes! He was pissed from the start at Carver and Robinson. Then he moved to Dickens, who gave 0 effort on the boards. When he moved to Ezipke, he was very calm and encouraging, because Kalu played his tail off. I wish he didn't get into foul trouble, because we could've seen a lot more from him. He tried Dickens and Robinson again, and they were awful. I heard him yell some not so nice things at both of them, and then he put Carver in down the stretch, who did a great job defensively. I am not sure I have ever seen Jeff that mad.
I also heard BJ laying into Dickens.

Thanks for the report 757. I guess sometimes it takes a team mate to wake you up. BJ has really stepped up these last two weeks. Playing fantastic.

RE: Fairfield
Was it just a lack of effort or what from Robinson and Dickens? What was the problem?
