Should be decent attendance with the large Mormon population in Idaho and Utah. Would rather have a good crowd even if it's mainly opponent fans, as opposed to a nearly empty stadium.

Likely not, but I wonder if our playing Ga Southern in 2015 and 2016 had anything to do with the pairings and missing Camellia. A "rubber match" would've been interesting, but it sorta feels like we just played them, even though it was a couple years ago.

Thrilled we're playing in a warm climate on a Saturday. Boise in December......worst bowl game by far for players and fans.

Heh. I know you're a newbie when it comes to football being played after Thanksgiving, so welcome to the party. 03-lol

We've got memories of record-breaking attendance at Ford Field, Cotton Bowl, ESPN Game Day on campus. But if only we could've grabbed Montgomery, Alabama against a Sun Belt opponent we played twice recently, that would've been the icing on the cake.
04-cheers

WTF?!

27-24, junior.

While I am thrilled your Hurons qualified for a bowl - and I hope they win it - you really should not be trash talking a program that has beaten you for 5 consecutive years.

Enjoy the bowl game and bring home a victory for the MAC.

RE: 2018 Bowl
While "warm is better," location just isn't that important anymore.

Over 60% of schools get a bowl in a given season now. Unless our program really takes a dump (likely won't happen), we'll probably get a bowl, say, 5-7 times over the next 10 years. Teams will rotate in and out different spots.

Myrtle Beach will be added to the MAC tie-in bowls in 2020.

Echoing Gull, hope the MAC brings home some wins this bowl season. Our conference is usually abysmal in the post season.

RE: 2018 Bowl
Having spent enough time in both Boise and Montgomery to give an informed opinion:

Boise is a beautiful city and surrounding area. Great people with a small town feel but with plenty of activities. Almost guaranteed to be cold. But it being a high desert it will be a dry cold and yes, there is a big difference between a wet cold and a dry cold.

Montgomery is a typical medium deep south city with a population of around 200K. Limited things to do and you need to be aware of what part of the city you are in after dark. The sun will set around 4:30 that time of year so dark comes early. The weather could vary greatly. It could be in the high 20's or in the mid 70's. If you get the mid 70's you will also get the potential for tornados. Typically low 50's to low 60's with high humidity. Better than MI weather but certainly NOT warm.

Boise is one of my all time favorite cities. WMU is the clear winner here.

Don't like Montgomery at all. Refuse to even get off 65 in Montgomery for gas. Nope - no thank you on Montgomery.

Totally understand.

Birmingham, too, is on my list of places to generally avoid.

I've never been able to figure out why people have such low opinions on the Potato Bowl. Yes, it's in a bad location, but some pretty solid teams have played in it.

I also think BYU will be a much tougher opponent then Georgia Southern.

I think the Myrtle Beach Bowl will replace the Bahamas Bowl or Potato Bowl.

At Lawson on Saturday, the students behind me were talking about if Boise or Montgomery is the better location, and they were saying Boise is. (Sounded like they wanted the Boca Raton bowl, tho)

Eastern fans, a sincere congratulations to you and your team. It's been great watching you grow under this coach, and your bid is well deserved.

Good luck, represent the MAC well!
