If we had Texas' resources, averaging 7.5 wins would be a major disappointment.

I'll give you that Mack deserves a ton of credit for helping elevate Texas and winning big there with VY. But it's 2019. And if you have watched his work on ESPN and pull for UNC, you gotta hope he's a figure head coach mostly and lets his coordinators do the heavy lifting.

With the names I'm hearing for OC and DC, thats exactly what it appears will happen.

Can a players scholarship get pulled for performance at any time? Or is good for 4 years no matter what? Or do they get to stay in school but just not play?

I believe they're still one-year scholarships that can be pulled (or to be more exact, not renewed) for any reason.

Pulling scholarships is not typically considered a good look, but yes, they can certainly be pulled. Wilder mentioned after the season that there are some guys that will not be back.

In terms of the DC, I wonder if the guy they are after is in a bowl game. (or just wrapped up a game this past Saturday)

Scholarships are only for one year, and they’re renewable at the school’s discretion.

Could the defense really get worse?

I was wondering how they were offering so many JuCos and we weren't seeing many decommits. Now it makes sense. This could be a huge recruiting class.

Lala isnt going anywhere. Its the defense and O-Line guys that need to worry the most

I expect to see the most turnover in the secondary. It's the one area we need a talent injection the most.

I don't think so. 25 is the soft limit, but you can have up to 5 early enrollees count towards the prior class as long as you undersigned one of your classes in a recent year. I'm not sure how many we signed in 18 or 17, but I do remember they weren't full classes. So, they could have 30 recruits in this class.

Edited to clarify wording.

Going by 247 classes from each year and comparing to 2018 roster:

2014 No returners (BTW, heavy JUCO class)
2015 23 + 2 '16 Jan enrollees so 25, 12 should return
2016 signed 22, 19 should return
2017, we signed 18, 14 should return
2018, we signed 20 should return all 20

***IF*** accurate, that's 65 schollies.
