So many close losses over the years and we could be much higher too. Great accomplishment. I know the reverse could also be true but there have been so many games that we came up just short. Boneyard games especially. Let’s keep going forward with the bowl and into next season.

When looking at those records its hard to not notice that after NIU and Toledo a couple of MAC programs are just about 500 teams and the rest have upside down records . We both play a lot of bad teams in our own conference, but that isnt our fault. The Power Five schools listed above just continue to roll and they certainly play many good teams week in and week out.

Also have to remember the mid-majors average 1-2 less home games every season, that makes a significant difference over the course of 17 years.

Mac overall just isn’t a strong conference. Compare w-l records overall for out of conference (non fcs) games and that tells the tale. Granted, many of These games are paycheck games for our schools.

This year the MAC is down, no doubt, but normally its about on par with MWC. At least MAC basketball is the best or 2nd best mid major basketball conference in the country this year.

Football-wise, we are not on par with the MWC. More like a step behind.
