Nick norton -Drake vs North Dakota State
Norton had 18 points 13 rebounds and a school record 17 assists
A triple double and the most assists in games triple double in the NCAA since 2010-2011

Does Big Dee still believe he’s sub par

Dang! 17 assists and only 1 turnover.

His assist rate is 5th best in the country.

RE: Nick norton -Drake vs North Dakota State
I took my daughter to the opening game where Norton tore his ACL. After watching him move the team for a few minutes I told her we looked like a team that would make the NCAA. At the end of the game after watching the two thirds of the game without Norton I told her we looked like a team that would be lucky to make the NIT. Norton may have some deficiencies but when he was healthy he made UAB a better team.

Loved watching him play.
Enjoyed that breakout game vs UCLA.
Knew he would be a threat to be dealt with.
Especially remember that finish vs WKU at the BJCC.
No way we would have gone to NCAA’s without him.
He will always be a Blazer to me.

Perhaps he is benefiting from playing for a coach that can get his players to play to their full potential. Good for Nick but he is no longer a Blazer. Move on.

RE: Nick norton -Drake vs North Dakota State
Nick transferred to a historically mediocre program at same time his father is succeeding at UAB. Get the feeling he just wanted out of Birmingham and/or the South.

Or maybe he just wanted the ball in his hands more. That probably wasn't going to happen here playing with Bryant.

Football season is almost over, so everyone can then start hating basketball full time

Football's success is certainly shining a light on the mediocrity of the rest of our men's team sports. Baseball, basketball, and soccer have all been trending down. The axe already fell with soccer and I expect it to fall again when a couple of contracts expire. Ehsan and even Shoop still have a chance to make something happen but time is not on their side.

Football has had a lot of money poured into it to spur that success. The other sports with the exception of soccer have not

RE: Nick norton -Drake vs North Dakota State
Funny we are treating our basketball program the same way MTSU is treating football. Had that place been full yesterday we most likely don’t win. They let us come in an take it over. Be a part of the solution. Not a part of the problem. A packed house may be an extra win or two. Players feed off that. Don’t take my word, just ask our guys. Just my take.

We need a big win or three. Something unexpected. If Rob is going to find himself as a D1 head coach, be great if he could do it against Auburn.
