Childers
I will be the first to eat my words about Marcus. I think we were all pretty frustrated with him the past two games. He’s not perfect, but he made some big strides today. He had a hell of a game and made some great throws. Spencer Tears has a coming out party and Corcoran’s return balances the defense.

Childers showed poise when the chips were down. Credit to him . He made the throws and the receivers, for once, stood up.

Best win since the MACC over Ohio,

RE: Childers
I don't think it's this easy, but he seemed SO much more comfortable throwing indoors.

Still had happy feet, but he showed us the 'arm' is in there, can it be consistent and figure it all the way?

300 yards passing, 109 rushing.

Yup, yup and more yup.

QB made the throws, coaches put players in position to succeed and receivers made plays.

Lively combo when it all works in a comeback.

Childers worked on his game and kept improving all season long. For once his receivers helped him out tonight. The team and the coaching staff have my respect.

If the second half Huskies had showed up every game we'd be ranked.

a whole lotta woulda coulda shoulda...

Utah loses the PAC champ...but only by 10, they were a darn good team, just like Iowa.

I have no idea what happened the last 2 weeks to NIU, have to say they slacked off a bit.

Childers had his best game tonight. If he can carry this forward into next year we will have an exciting team to watch.

My jaw is still dropped from that TD that was called back. That was not a human catch

I agree. No idea how he got his hands to the ball, even on slow motion it looks impossible

Lynch was a Jr when he started. Childers a Jr next year. I admit I question Childers but could he be Lynch lite or better?

He has the tenacity as a rusher and he’s tough as nails. If the throwing keeps improving and he could keep teams honest he could be a good player. Lynch is very hard to live up to.

I almost wonder if getting behind was a blessing for NIU. Tempo was much better, play calling more aggressive, etc.

Ya could be. But they did go uptempo from the start. Also coach U was on the sideline for the play calling for the first time. Wonder if his decisions were impacted for the better. Maybe on 4th and 1 he wanted to run a jet sweep but a coach or player yelled run Harbison???
