He wanted too much money.

Understatement...he is now getting Urban Meyer type money...word is the target is Scott Satterfield and I am very satisfied if he is the guy. The other people I like are Luke Fickett @ UC & Ryan Day the OC @ Ohio State.

You can have Luke Fickett, whoever that may be. We're going to keep Luke Fickell.

Lol...straight up typo...but he will likely be at UC...my hunch is it will be Satterfield and not Fickell...my top 2 are actually Ryan Day & Satterfield and even including Brohm I wanted Day over Brohm with Satterfield being 3rd.

I’ve said that I thought Satt would be the best hire.

I hope Satterfield has his head on straight. It seems like everybody with a coaching vacancy thinks he is at the top of their list. With that much attention, it would be really easy to get a swelled head.

But that has shaken things up a bit, I imagine.

I think Satterfield may lead right now, but I am not sure if VT has zeroed in on his final target.

Personally, I really like Bill Clark at UAB. Dude wins. At every level he's tried so far. Which means he has systems he knows and trusts, and he can recruit to those systems, and most importantly, TEACH those systems. His resume is a little thin ... but so what. He's got fire. And can build from scratch.

Odom?

You’re silly...with my phone it was...just no on Krags...even though what happened to him this past weekend was ridiculous and sad.

In large part because you have boosters at so many schools who want to BUY a championship. That's ultimately where about half of the money comes from (and all of the motivation behind paying that money to coaches).

What are the thoughts on Butch Jones, McElwain or any other coaches like them?

I think Butch makes a lot of sense for Louisville. Obviously Louisville has a long history recruiting in Florida and Georgia. Butch's primary recruiting connections have always been in Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Michigan, not to mention now his contacts in TN and other parts of the Deep South.

I think he is a pretty decent program builder, recruiter, and will motivate. The biggest knock on him has been his in-game management can be questioned at time. Perhaps Saban and some of the other guys coaching in Tuscaloosa has rubbed off on him this past year or so and he will improve in that area.

If Louisville was smart, Satterfield at App State would be their next coach. Personally, I was hoping for Georgia Tech to go after him. I think he will be a great hire whoever gets him.

At this point I would be shocked if Satterfield isn’t the Louisville Coach by Monday Night

Where is the Fickell love coming from? This 10 win season is his only winning season as a head coach.

Keep thinking that way, and spread the word. Fickell isn't worth any consideration because he's been a head coach for two years and has only one ten-win season.

He is not our second choice anyway. Scott Satterfield is our second choice. 07-coffee3

Fickell wasn’t Cincinnati’s first choice, Satterfield was. His wife Beth did not like Cincinnati though.

Fickell is doing a good job at UC but didn’t get an interview in Louisville because he has never coached outside the State of Ohio

He also said He will meet with Louisville. He said He owes it to His family to have a chance to step up. Louisville through thick and thin is still a great place to be.

Butch jones was in play before and would be a worthy candidate. He could succeed here. No problem
