Meanwhile UNC fired its HC Saturday night and had its new coach Monday morning.
This is an excellent hire, for the program in it's entirety.
Behold, all of the UNC scandals, including the football players selling their shoes.
Fedora saying that concussion protocols were symptomatic of the decline in today's society.
The endzone fiasco with NC State in which he emulated a Holocaust denier by refusing to acknowledge that it happened.
Fedora was a liability above and beyond.
The contrast between Brown and Fedora could not be more glaring.
Mack Brown is clean and has won big in his career.
Mack is a former UNC coach "come home".
Mack' reputation and smooth confident demeanor will appeal to old and young donors alike.
Mack Brown will not hurt recruiting.
Mack Brown will not be erratic.
Mack Brown will not likely incur the scrutiny of the NCAA.
The real issue is this. Mack is old(er) school whose methods likely cannot win in today's game. That was already becoming apparent while he was still at Texas.
IF, he can get by his ego (and I have no idea if he has a big one or not), then he will hire assistants that can win for him.
He will initially have the luxury of the support of the powers-that-be for whatever he wants, and UNC has the resources to make that happen.
This could be win win if Brown hires the best assistants and let's them "have at it"
