Dino has no recruiting ties to the southeast. You're safe at least here.

Things we've learned this weekend:
Michigan is never beating Ohio State again.
Virginia is never beating Virginia Tech again
Georgia Tech is never beating Georgia again.
(GT ain't beating Clemson again but we knew that in week 4)

Send PJ to the Military Bowl in Annapolis. Retire at the game end. Hire Scott Satterfield. Pay whatever it cost to get the best recruiters for Metro Atlanta. Retain Nate Woody. Fire literally everybody else.

Well at least it wasn't 51-7. That's the only saving part. Two garbage time scores.

Surprisingly, Dino has 26 players on the current SU roster from the southeast, with most of them coming from Florida then PA and GA.

How many of those players are highly rated? Everybody goes into GA/FL to get skill positions. But there is one hell of a difference between 6'3" 4.3 40 and 5'10" 4.6 40. I bet I could find a team in the MWC with more than a dozen GA/FL players for that matter.

I put most of the credit for that in the ACC being down and Dungey being good.

Assuming Clemson and Bama finish 2-0 and the Irish beat USC, I propose a 3 team round robin playoff. If someone finishes 2-0 they’re champs. Not sure what we do if they all finish 1-1.

I don’t see a worthy 4th team. UGA? A 20 point loss to LSU and your best wins being Florida and Kentucky is a CFP resume? How about a 12-1 conference champ Oklahoma? The Sooners gave up 38 points a game in Big 12 play and their last four opponents dropped 46, 47, 40, and 56 on them. How about Ohio St since the Big 10 homer announcers are currently saying they deserve the 4th spot? Please ignore the 29 point loss to .500 Purdue and the Terps dropping 51 on them last week.

NC State beats UNC in overtime and the teams immediately start a brawl in the end zone. I saw multiple players throwing punches. Won’t be surprised to see some Pack bowl suspensions and Tar Heels suspended to open next season if the league reviews tape on that one.

Give it to UCF, let them face Bama in the semifinals. I just want to see what happens!

Without their starting QB the spread for Bama may jump all the way into the 40's. Even with their QB it was like a 34 point spread.

I missed Clean Old Fashioned Hate this year. What happened in the 2nd Qtr? The final margin was exactly the same as the margin in that quarter.

UGAg could have named the score. If they didn't take out the starters early 3rd quarter it would have been 60-something to 7.

The same crappy and inconsistent offensive play that was bailed out by inept opponents the last two weeks finally met an opponent not willing to help it out.

The ESPN TV coverage was abysmal. It was full SEC homers all the way down. They mocked Taquon for "throwing a Reggie Ball into the hedges" on air. They openly pondered whether UMASS gave them a better game last week.

If PJ came into this game without a winning record it would have been VERY interesting to see if Stansbury would have been forced to fire him right there on the spot Gailey style. I think this game makes it impossible for PJ to be extended with any kind of meaningful buyout increase. Which means it will cost just $2m to fire PJ next year. PJ set attendance low records for his tenure this year .... three times. The GTAA will lose more money in unsold tickets than it cost to keep PJ next year. I think PJ is a dead man walking and he'll "retire" after this season or next or be fired after not making a bowl next year. The ACC is as awful as it has ever been post expansion ... and GT can't take advantage. On the contrary ... they're moving in the wrong direction.

What will be interesting is what Stansbury does to replace PJ. Stansbury may have done good things everywhere he has been (ETSU, UCF, Oregon State, and now GT) but he hasn't had to make a revenue sport hire yet. And this hire will make or break the GTAA for the next 10 years. And oh, btw, Pastner is making his way to the on deck circle for the axe given his spectacular failure to recruit so far. Combined with the Danny Hall slide in baseball there's literally nothing to cheer about in the GTAA these days. It's the most in debt the GTAA has ever been. It's the most woeful athletic product they've produced in two full generations -- since at least before Homer Rice was AD. It's time for wholesale changes throughout the ranks and across several sports. If Stansbury's argument is we can't compete at that level because ($facilities$), then I'd demand everybody including Stansbury take a pay cut that is redirected to the AI2020 campaign. Either you're going to win now or you're going to sell everything -- EVERYTHING -- up the river like the Braves/Royals/Marlins to win tomorrow. No middle ground.

It's time for Stansbury to earn that paycheck.

Takes more than just Dungey...but he is a difference maker.

Dino just pulled in 2 Four Star kids the other day. One from NC and one from FL. He also got a recommittment from a high 3 star Miami kid.

Cuse recruiting appears to be taking the next step.

Gotta think the Camping Bowl says No to NCSt and grabs Cuse.

Pitt already getting blown out by Miami. Man the Coastal is horrendous. You could create an All-Coastal team from the best players in the division and it still couldn't beat Clemson. Or even have a QB better than Kelly Bryant.

That's crazy talk... but it's true the Coastal division is a hot mess.

Part of that is because almost all of the improvement in the ACC - Boston College, NC State, Syracuse - has been in the Atlantic division. Sure, FSU is down and their roster is thin - but so is VT (both counts).

Miami has some talent, but they also have Mark Richt, so their ceiling is limited.

Pitt has no WRs that scare anybody - and you can count on running down the throat of good defensive teams. When teams can attack the LOS, they're toast.

GT isn't as far from being good as they look, IMO - but they are a l-o-n-g way from great, which is what fans want to see.

Miami has a legit front 7. GT has a legit ........ punter. And KO returner. The best QB is ... Perkins at UVA? I'm telling you an All-Coastal team isn't as good as you think it is.
