Realistically, if it's a game, then it's going to be another Offensive Shootout trading blows against one another.
With Jackson Dillon out on Memphis D, it's hard to envision our Defense stopping UCF. I just hope we can contain 3rd-Down Conversions.
Either way, just come on down to Tiger Lane and have a great time!
Stop by, we offer free Memphis BBQ, free beer, etc, for all of our visitors!
Sooner or later it has to end. UCF has had a few breaks in this series. They're a great team, but last year they got us twice in their place and we almost beat them in a championship game.
These teams aren't that far apart on the field. You never know what is going to happen but I think we'll show ourselves well. Memphis has a lot of talent and if we can run on them we'll keep their O off the field.
They haven't exactly beat Murderer's Row this year. Let's just see what happens. Memphis will be ready. That I guarantee.

The thing that scares me about Memphis is they have beaten a bunch of nobodys and lost to the two teams with a minor pulse on the schedule. I don't think anybody knows what kind of team this Memphis team is, but we will know after Saturday for sure.
That's a fair objective assessment. There is one common denominator in both losses I haven't wrapped my finger around, rain. Of course both teams had to play in the same rain, but is that our Achilles Heal with a new QB to keep our Offense at 3 TDs or less...for the time being at least. Our QB's pass efficiency dropped by 15-20% in both of those. Losing by 1 point @ Navy in a rainstorm with a new QB was easily justifiable. But eeash, then giving up 40 @ Tulane in the rain, not so much dancing around that problem with the Defense, lol.
There's a game called Axis Football that a few UCF fans are involved with. They run a simulation every week and they've been surprisingly close to the actual outcomes (from the UCF board):
Quote:UCONN SIM: 54-17 actual was 56-17
SC State SIM 57-17 actual was 38-0 (subtract 17 from both, you get 40-0 this one was the most "off")
FAU SIM 62-28 actual was 56-36
Pitt SIM 44-21 actual was 45-14
SMU SIM 45-23 actual was 48-20
They were off for our FCS game, but if you watched the FCS game, there was something off with UCF that game.
They did the simulation for Memphis in 3 weather conditions:
Windy: UCF 54-30
Rainy: UCF 37-31
Sunny: UCF 56-33
So it's interesting that you think Memphis plays poorly in the rain, but that's the game they have Memphis within a score on.
A weather/team performance tale of two halves:
Overcast/Dry: Memphis 30-17
Rainy: UCF 14-0
Final: UCF 31-30
I think the simulation is overstating UCF and understating Memphis in good conditions, but also overstating Memphis in bad conditions. While it wasn't "Sunny" Memphis was on a trajectory after the first half to a 56-33 W "Sunny" simulation in dry weather over UCF.
After the weather shifted to rainy, UCF went 14-0, but color me unconvinced Memphis could score 31 against UCF in rain, lol.

I know nothing of the details of how the players are rated for this simulation, but I'm guessing they seriously under rated Henderson and the Memphis d-line. That's who surprised me.

Hopefully can keep streak going but we probably will not be favored with Mack.

So even if UCF losses the champ game they’ll get the NY6 bid being the highest ranked right

No. It only goes to the champion.
More than likely it's going to the mwc. Unless Memphis is miraculously ranked tomorrow.

If UCF holds to beat USF and wins against Memphis in the CCG I don’t believe that Boise or Utah St will pass them. Alternatively if UCF loses this USF game and to Memphis and Boise beats US and wins the MW? They could possibly pass the Knights.

If UCF beats Memphis the Knights are in the NY6.
If UCF loses, the NY slot will go to the MW champ.

Maybe.... after all... Memphis WOULD HAVE a win over a top 10 UCF, something none of the G4 champs could claim. And I know about how far you can jump or fall in the polls etc, etc, but the CFP don't play by those rules. They just do what they want. So if they think that a 4 loss team with a top 10 win is more deserving than any of the G4 champs, they will jump us right over them, and DARE you to say something about it! That's how they roll.

Never understood why they tied the G5 to being a champ only. I mean I would be a shame to shun an 11-1 UCF. Why not just take the best G5????

Stinks the West’s best team has 4 losses. Just terrible.

It will work in the americans favor most of the time. If Memphis had only 4 more points this season, we would be 10-2, and the AAC would have effectively locked all other G4 teams out.

Most ironic that 3 of the 4 losses are in conference. When was the last time a 3-loss team won a division in an 8-game season?
