Just for fun though.
2017-18 opener (Towson)
Porter - 17 mins, 7 rebs, 6 pts, 3 blocks, 4 fouls
2018-19 opener (Navy)
Dickens - 18 min, 4 rebs, 6 pts, 3 blocks, 2 fouls
Let's see how the season plays out, but after one game Dickens numbers held their own to Porters. It will be interesting to watch.
Comparing the two is pointless. Portrr decided to leave; what does comparing the two (didferent styles as well) accomplish?
Most of the opinions and stats on here are pointless, so I thought I would join the fun. I realize Porter decided to leave. The point is that we need to see what Dickens does through the season before we concede our center position is not as good as with Porter. Some on here have already christened the season a failure after a sample size of one game. I figured I would compare what the two did in the last two season openers and share.
I think Dickens will be a very good player for us. But I don't think that a Sophmore Dickens will replace the offensive production of a Senior Porter this year. We'll see.
Almost certainly will not. His low post game isn't as developed. But, I think he's going to be more of a force defensively and a better rebounder.

There are more ways for a big guy to score than with his back to the basket.

Absolutely. But, he's also not likely to average double digits in dunks/putbacks.

I didn't realize the type of game Caver had last night till I looked again.
7-15, 3-8 from 3, 7-9 from th stripe. 5 rebounds, 3 assists.
PER- 31
7% rebounding
32% assist rate
4.9% turnover rate on usage of 32%
That might be the top individual game he's had.

I assume his jersey wasn’t done when everyone else’s was since his status was unknown. Might not have been received yet

That jam, that swat into the seats were great. BUT, my favorite play was when Dickens raced to the ball, dove and beat out some smaller guys for the ball. That's what I'm talking about, the will to win baby!
And Syracuse. Please, what is there home winning %, 90-95% I bet. Aren't they top 10? I have that down as a certain loss and if I'm wrong I'll be very happy.

I'm surprised that a Grown Ass Man cannot even get his name on a jersey.
I guess he has to earn it like at some small-ball, FCS football teams.
Either that or his last name is offensive to some folks... Ha, i could see it spelled ****ENS in this #himtoo environment

Razor never fails to depress us.
We won by 23 as a 14.5 poing favorite. We should be upset!
The final score was extremely flattering.
It was a 3 point game late in the second half and you know that.
We did manage to pull away and hit some big shots late.
Let’s hope we can put a solid half together against St. Joe’s.

Which is why good teams are going to create big problems for us.

So for those of us still trying to figure out what it means to be a "grown ass man", it seems to require one to humorless, thin-skinned and fragile.
Any other "grown ass man" attributes we uninformed posters should be alert to?

We do our best to not over-moderate. And while some sketchy posts remain on the board, we typically send warnings via PM before discussions get too far off the rails.
However, if anyone sees any posts they feel should be removed, we encourage them to report it and it will be quickly dealt with.

Middle of the second half we started to pull away. I was never really worried about losing the game but it was worrying that we started both halves so cold. That's not going to fly against better teams.
