How about that WKU game? Up 11 at half-time @ Washington, but lose by 18. Outscored 47-19 in the 2nd half. Brutal.

I caught enough of the second half to see a WKU team that could be damn good come conf time. But that Washington team looked reaaaaaaaaally good in that 2nd half to me. I don't know their team but at one point they all looked 7' tall and 8' wing spans the way they were playing zone.

RPI is now meaningless, but even less meaningful right now (MTSU-30 LOL)

Im not really sold on WKY just yet. That may change when Bearden and Murray come back. There is a lot of pressure on Hollingsworth to score.

Thanks for stating the damn obvious! This is meant to track the RPI over the season.

Just pointing out that the NCAA does not use RPI anymore (thank goodness) and it really doesn't provide meaningful analysis. Should have sat it more subtly, but I hate the metric.

Not to be abrasive, but I agree with Giles that there is no longer a reason to track RPI. You do you, though. I just wouldn't waste my time. Maybe track ESPN BPI or kenpom instead?

NCAA now uses the "NCAA Evaluation Tool", which I cant find anywhere and im not even sure they will publish the results. RPI may not be used in selecting tournament teams anymore but it was rarely used when they did have it as a metric for bubble teams because of P5 bias. Now its just a tool for fans to still see how their team stacks up in the college basketball landscape. Yes there are kenpom rankings and saragin rankings but they are all pretty much the same. I prefer the warren nolan rankings website.

Premium on winning games on the road and not losing games at home. Nothing new in that regard.

Because Kenpom this early in the season relies on last year's results for their formula and LT sucked last year. All these metrics are useless for at least another month.

RE: 2018-19 MBB RPI Thread
The effect of preseason weighting slowly decreases as the year goes along. Preseason weighting is included because it makes the analysis less volatile and more accurate.

FWIW, LT is now 129.

RE: 2018-19 MBB RPI Thread
Warren Nolan has us at 157 and VCU at 46. I dont get it. The just beat Texas on the road by 1 but that shouldnt matter that much. The gap should be closer.
