Time to replace Kathy Beauregard.
Lester is HER choice. She can't even claim PJ Fleck as she wanted Tim Lester when PJ was hired over her initial choice.

Time for a new AD. She owns this disaster-and unlike previous years she won't have the basketball teams or the hockey team to cover up her mistake. All the notes come due this year, Kathy. Adios.

President Montgomery, this is your opportunity to leave a noticeable mark. Please show leadership and change the direction of the FB program. Maybe even the athletic department as a whole.

Sadly, I agree. Hawkins might make a good AD after the basketball disaster season is over and Saddi Washington can take over that program. As far as who takes over the football program, any ideas?

Mike Houston and the NDSU coach Chris Klieman(sp?).
Same two I was hoping for last time around. They make just over 400k per year. I'm guessing one of them would jump for 800k per year.

I was hoping for Chris Kleiman last time. He'd gladly take the job for half of what Lester is getting paid.

I know that's a whole other discussion, but as much respect I have for Hawkins and what he's put into the university, that program is getting stale as well.

Charles Huff. Coached RB's here at one time. Excellent recruiter. Assistant Head coach at Miss St. right now.

But Lester isn't getting fired before his contract is up

What has Saddi done which would indicate he'd be a good college basketball coach? Does he have any record of success at that level? Sounds to me like the basketball equivalent to the Tim Lester program. Being a good college player does NOT necessarily indicate you'd be a good college coach.

I wanted Houston bad when Lester was hired.

I've called for KB to be fired before as a knee jerk reaction and got blasted for it.

KB has done A LOT for the university but I feel like the athletic program as a whole has been stale for a long time. A shake up would be nice. Ignite some new energy.

KB isn't going to be fired. She's going to be "retired".

Well, Michigan, a Final Four program, thought enough of him to make him their head coach while Beilein was out. Saddi is highly-regarded and a hot coaching candidate right now and it's only a matter of time before he's running his own program. I'm hoping it's at his alma mater, and hopefully provides better results than our current legacy hire.

Couple things to remember.

1. We are paying Lester and staff more than Fleck and staff.

2. We passed on Mario Cristobal

We could have had Lester for half the salary he's currently getting. There were no other Division 1A programs knocking on his door. Another misplay by Kathy.

No indication that Cristobal ever wanted the job. Feelers were made, he trashed the MAC instead.

RE: Time to replace Kathy Beauregard.
Just accidentally posted this in my the b-ball forum... anger and cell phone interface messed me up!

I have given this staff every opportunity to have success. I argued roster changes and the need to “give it time”. I was a huge PJ defender and took trash for that.

I’m done with this staff. Done. Not one thing went well... looked lost, slow and no energy. Again.

This entire staff needs to go. It was an experiment that KB apparently had been setting up for awhile. Could have been a great home team come home story... but this staff has proven to be ill prepared.

KB will likely keep Tim through his contract and ruin every ounce of momentum the 2016 season gave us.

I’m officially selling off my suite season tickets.

Will the $800k be available after this debacle? Will the donors rethink their contributions?

You’ll never see Saddi at WMU. His stature for much bigger jobs has grown immensely.
