But Cincinnati and USF were in CUSA. So really, just UCONN, Navy, and Temple.

Also worth noting that Neil Ostrout of the Journal Inquirer (Connecticut) has UCF at #4. Highest of any AP Voter.

On the opposite end, Soren Petro of Sportsradio 810 WHB, has UCF 15th, two positions behind 2 loss Texas. It's not like those two losses were to stud teams in Maryland (Temple beat them) and Okie St., both 5 and 3.

True--- but some of these schools were never in CUSA at the same time.

I realize it has many of the same teams, I was referring to the amount of respect that our teams have gotten from the polls is something C-USA didn't have.

Congratulations to UCF, USF, Cincinnati and now Houston for crashing the top 25 party this year. Y’all are making us proud.

Any chance we end up with 4 or 5 ranked teams in the final ranking?

Hard to envision 4 when UCF/USF/Cincinnati (and Temple for that matter) haven't gone through each other yet. Maybe if they can all pull bowl wins. 5 is seemingly impossible. We've never done better than 3 (though we had a real shot in 2016 but our bowl performance was dismal).

You essentially need 10 wins with a bowl win to be ranked as an AAC team. Tulsa has been the one exception to that; Temple has had two 10-win teams finished unranked due to losing their bowl games.

And I'm still bitter about it. Matt Rhule could not finish off bowl games.

Cincy losing to Temple threw a wrench in things.

Had the bearcats won they would be in the 15-18 range. When they played USF. Then the fall out would have most likely kept all three east teams ranked. As it is now our best chance at four is everyone wins this week. Some chaos let Cincy and USF in around the top 20s. USF loses to Cincy in a close game. Cincy moves up USF stays in. Cincy loses a close game to UCF and Cincy stays in. USF wins vs Temple and climbs to the top 15-20. USF loses to UCF. Houston wins out. Then a loss in the championship game would keep either team in and USF and Cincy would have a good chance of being where they are now or a lil better going into a bowl game. Can't see five. Temple could have done it with out the Nova and Buffalo losses.

I also predict that in this scenario our third place team will out rank any g4 team and our fourth place will almost do so too.

It’s the same reason Miss St and Michigan St. jumped in the the polls the same week they got blown out by LSU and Michigan respectively. LSU and Michigan got top 25 wins against teams that had no business near the top 25. They’re taking care of their own.
