One helluva decoy

Tony Pollard is a receiver.

Yep, and he had 11 touches on Sat. You watch game, Ike?

RE: Memphis vs. Mizzou line
We will not get blown out.

We very well may win.

Unfortunately our luck factor is horrible right now. Have lost 5 of our last 9 games. 4 of them by 0, meaning overtime, or 1 point. Astonishing run of bad luck in close games. UCF in overtime, Iowa State by 1, Navy by 1, UCF by 1. One really bad game with Tulane.

I get the whole ifs and buts. We did not make a play or the other team did and we lost. Nonetheless, for a discussion board a lot had to go wrong for this misfortune.

UCF last year we did rally to tie that game late but with a chance to win we went backwards and then had long field goal game winner miss.

Iowa State game didn’t two touchdowns and one interception get reversed by penalties? We did benefit from a fumble by ISU that should have been a TD but the bad stuff was against our kids.

Navy twelve point lead with the ball in fourth quarter and we fumbled. Good lord.

UCF yesterday, fumbles, lost lead then painful holding call then no PI. Our four wins during that time all big, even if some sluggish play with USA.

Point is, we are due some breaks. Or we need to cause our breaks. I like our chances Saturday. Win that and set up for nice finish.

Yeah I said that yesterday.

This team simply has no luck to it. Sometimes that happens. But right now we just can't catch a break anywhere.

We are not as bad as our record indicates.

We're too soft to go on the road and compete with a halfway decent SEC team, this year.

Last year, maybe. But this year....yeah, they're gonna kill us.

I agree. I do not necessarily expect us to beat beat Mizzou but I certainly see no reason why we could not. It should be a good game, I expect it to be pretty close.

Mizzou's QB will be the player of the draft. They have solid O and D lines. This one could leave a mark.

Lock's last three games:

53-110 (48%) 567 yards (189 yd/gm) 1 TD 5 int. 85.4 QBR.

Mizzou is looking for a breather after their big game against Bama. I think they will overlook us.

And those games were against Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. Comparatively, our defense is light years away from that level.

Unless there was some magic potion that Norvell found between since Saturday, best-case scenario is Tigers win a shootout.

Lock's first three games (granted, against a bad FCS team in UT-Martin, Wyoming, and a bad Big Ten team in Purdue ) was 78-112, 1,062 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT.

I don't think he is as good as his numbers from the first three games show, but I also don't think he's as bad as his most recent three games as well.

We have been horrible on the road. Any chance of rain? Game goes to Mizzou by 10 if it is dry. Get a thundershower and we get washed away. I just don't want to many of our guys hurt. We will need them to finish out the AAC schedule.

We are 1-3-3

Meaningful wins (counting all Conf. games as such) 1
Cupcakes 3
Meaningful losses 3

We should build a dome to match our team and request all road/bowl games be played inside as well.

RE: Memphis vs. Mizzou line
It's amazing the people that speak authoritatively about things it's obvious they didn't actually watch.

We lead Navy until we suffered two big losses on defense and then mistakes compiled on us, but we lost by 1 on the road.
Tulane, we were missing 6 starters on defense, but even with a terrible effort were down 17-14 until the last play of the 3rd Quarter. Being on the field 75% of the game, with limited backups caught up to us in the 4th.
UCF, getting back mostly healthy (only two key starters still out), we took the #10 team, with the 3rd ranked overall offense down to the wire and should've won.

Now we face the 24th rated offense, with the 96th rated defense and people are talking about how we will get killed.
We are still the 7th rated overall offense and the 56th rated defense.

People get caught up in conference perceptions and not on field reality.

My concern is we will need to run the ball to win...

Normally when you have a physical disadvantage throwing the ball is your best option.

07-coffee3 It probably does not have anything to due with the movement from 6 to 8 but do we know the extent of Henderson's leg injury ???

The movement from 6 to 8 is due to more bets being placed on Mizzou.

I've noticed in a couple of games, DH took a hard shot on a leg and it seemed to bother him a bit. I guess it's because he's so strong that the hit doesn't easily knock his legs out from under him and he absorbs more of an impact.

That's why they just grab his facemask anytime they can. The officials aren't going to call it. It a wonder his neck isn't broken.

Most of that due to the fact that Missouri actually made Bama look mortal.

You mean the Bama that has only played one ranked team and one other team with a winning record, that also lost their starting QB in the 1st half, but still limited Missouri to 183 yards and had 590? Just not sure what the definition of "mortal" is.
Bama looked completely dominant on defense and on offense, more or less moved at will. They did have to settle for FGs in this game. I guess that's something.
