I wouldn’t want to play us if I were App either. Remember the last time we played?

It was a bad day for sure. But our programs are in different universes now. App is enjoying the ride and there’s no mention of a prior hiccup that could bring us down.

I don’t like what your school fundamentally stands for and that’s why I don’t want it to succeed. It isn’t sour grapes about losing a game.

Just about every SEC school has an "ugly history" along with many other P5's and even schools like Kent State and others. Using your criteria, we'd have like 10 schools we could play. No thanks.

It's just a football game. Leave your politics on HuffPo, Jacobin and DailyKos, please.

We'd beat you by 50 right now. Didn't you used to be a Coastal fan?

Liberty is garbage. Run by a shyster, supported by charlatans, and can’t play a lick of football.

Yep! Glad someone else remembers that. Guy used to claim to root for Coastal, but he would also call himself a Clemson fan, but then he was a liberty sympathizer and then he decided to go full on liberty.

He didn’t like that Coastal fans called him out on his “split” loyalties.

I did pull for Clemson and Coastal because I grew up in SC. I graduated from Liberty and went to South Carolina. So yes I have “split” loyalties. I still pull for all of those schools and add in Louisville because I went there too.

Must be hard pulling for so many schools. I am looking into grad schools currently, so most likely I will be pulling for an additional team in the future - but Troy Football will always be #1.

We are in the last year of transition and still have FCS talent on the roster. So like most teams we are having growing pains. Plus Gill sort of sucks so once all this changes we will be in a much better position to consistently compete. Did I mention Gill sucks?

We had FCS talent on the roster and won three straight bowl games and two straight conference titles.

Liberty should not be normalized even by merely playing them in a football game. I pray that AppState never schedules them and I am sad to see UVA and VATech propping up that program.

Satterfield is also a way better coach than Liberty's.

Well I am Liberty first because that’s where I graduated. The others I follow occasionally. I am going to be starting grad school at Boise St so they will be added into the mix next year.

What a win! That DJ Abnar run and leveling of the App Defender is still in my top 5 or so favorite Liberty plays ever!

Also, I am so relieved that lack of class and respect of some on this board is so very reliable and consistent!

I hope we do schedule a series with App soon. Besides Troy, Lafayette, Monroe, and Tx St are already on future LU schedules.

RE: Troy at Liberty
It's funny that the fans of a program that considers itself "superior" to the sun belt touts their win over a sun belt opponent like it is their biggest win in the history of their football program.

Because it was.

And now, the game that their fans consider the biggest home game in the history of their program is also a sun belt team.

It's at least flattering that the Sun Belt is to Liberty what the SEC is to the Sun Belt.
