ETSU athletics on probation
So the tennis coach breaks the rules and the entire department is on probation. Sounds extreme to me.

RE: ETSU athletics on probation
Actually it is men's tennis on probation (with some spillover into women's tennis due to a coach who was involved). however it does have ramifications for the entire athletics program if another sports team has a major violation. this is not small thing. regretfully, this is a dark spot on the resume of the men's tennis program which has traditionally been very good. applaud the university for how it has addressed the situation and moved in a proactive manner once the violations were discovered

But the local media are reporting the entire athletic program is on probation.

Fallout from that UNC-CH and the NO penalties handed down by the NCAA for proven egregious ACADEMIC FRAUD.

The question I have is if our basketball team wins a championship this season will they be allowed to keep it?

Unless something specifically related to mens or womens basketball comes up, this would have no bearing on those teams. Both mens and womens tennis could be given the so called death penalty by the NCAA and it wouldn't impact other sports, at least not directly.

Anything and everything is possible I suppose, but given the headaches he went through at UT when Bruce Pearl got in trouble and dismissed, I'm guessing Coach Forbes would rather have a loosing season or two rather then risk doing anything that would get the NCAA on his or the program's case.

You know, Yaser didn't learn his unethical stuff on his own. Makes one wonder who his mentor was and just how dirty that person was.
Guess maybe ETSU Athletics wasn't "Winning the right way" after all.
Rot in hell, Mullins.

I thought ETSU dismissed him and had him charged as soon as he was discovered. Did the NCAA charge the athletic dept for not keeping tight enough watch on the tennis budget and catch him for the first dime he lifted? The UNC-CH athletic department committed academic fraud for 16 years and got off the hook on technicalities. How’s ETSU on probation for a tennis violation that it immediately and rather forcefully took care of while virtually the entire UNC-CH athletic dept and others were in on the academic fraud scandal for 16 YEARS and they ALL walked?

Because Carolina basketball generates millions of dollars for the North Carolina economy and the NCAA/ESPN. Nobody gives a $hit about ETSU tennis outside of the Bushwood Country Club.

Yep, money talks and corrupts. Of course, it’s tennis — but the sound of “ETSU on NCAA probation” infuriates coming from the corrupt worms at the NCAA. The university took care of the problem when discovered. Don’t know details, but there’s no evidence of any sort of coverup. Still, a bunch of NCAA cowards and jerks.
