After going 3 for 4 today, he's hitting an even .300.

RE: Rendon numbers this year
It will be interesting to see if the Nats try to sign Rendon to a long-term contract extension this offseason. His rookie contract isn't up until the end of the 2019 season and Scott Boras is his agent, but still I could see them extending AR if Bryce Harper signs with some other team (certainly possible). The link below talks about the offseason possibilities with Rendon. BTW, the Nationals aren't eliminated from the playoffs quite yet but they're still a very longshot to make the postseason.

Rendon also has a very good shot at his first Gold Glove. He continues to be just an exceptional fielder.

with the timing of contracts expiring and all it doesn't really work out, BUT.

in 2020 Id love to see the Astros trade Correa move Bregman to SS and pick up Rendon . Would allow them to keep Springer and get something in return for Correa .

Esp. since Correa probably leaves anyway and by them you've lost Springer who I think is essential in the clubhouse

And after another 3 for 4 (including his 21st HR) he's at .304

Rendon and Brock Holt both have homers tonight. Holt seems to be getting a little more playing time lately - he's another one who is closing in on career highs in both homers and RBI in a season.

Anthony and Freddie Freeman are the only 2 NL players to hit .300 in each of the last two seasons.

Ant just hit his 100th career HR tonight. He'd be MVP if he only played games against the Mets.

September 25th, with 5 games to go:

AVG .308 - 11th in MLB (1st for 3B)
OPS .903 - 11th in MLB (5th for 3B)
2B 42 - tied 8th (tied 4th for 3B)

FPCT .983 (2nd for 3B)

Pretty good numbers, yet not his best in a lot of categories

WAR behind last year as well as 2014, but this has been an excellent year for him. If nothing else, this removes any doubt that AR is a top 10 MLB position player. (I think it was clear last year but I know some were still writing about his injury-plagued 2015-16 and questioning whether he could sustain.)

Is there anyone in MLB in that tier with less notice than Anthony? Maybe if Harper leaves this off-season Rendon's play will get a bit more attention. Anthony has been the most valuable position player (by WAR) on the Nationals in 3 of the last 5 years, and was #2 in 2016 - a down year for him.

RE: Rendon numbers this year
For some reason, the BIS defensive stats don't like Rendon this year, even though his raw defensive stats are on par with prior years. That's the only reason I can see that his dWAR (using Baseball Reference) has gone from a 1.0 last year to a -0.6 this year. And that's the difference between his MVP years (2014 and 2017) and this year (though his dWAR was 2.1 in 2014).

He's not going to catch Yelich for the NL batting crown, but he might finish 2nd (and possibly lead the league in doubles). He's had a torrid September (hitting .382 and averaging more than an RBI a game).

Followed up with a double in the 7th, his 200th of his career, and 1 more RBI. The cool thing was that afterward, he was talking with a Marlins player (probably the 2nd baseman) while they were waiting for a new relief pitcher, and it looked like Rendon was giving batting tips to the Marlins player. They were talking hand positions and starts of swings, it would appear.

EDIT: it was the 7th inning, and only 1 RBI.
