I normally don’t call people out, but this time I have to… IMO I think the new HC came in thinking this was an FCS program and he could make sweeping changes that would project the Bucs to stardom. First, if you are going to replace a senior QB with 3 years of starting experience, that replacement better be darn good. From what we’ve seen, that was a bad decision. Through 3 games – 12 qtrs - #4 has not produced, but the HC stays with him – and then has the audacity to talk about him in an interview. How about you keep your personal feelings to yourself and off the airways. #4 wouldn’t be tossing INTs if you didn’t have a hand in it. However, if the folks in FL are correct, the Bucs new HC won’t admit a mistake. Secondly, coach Taylor runs the D. He makes the decisions as to who is on the field and what D plays are called. He has a history with these young men and they respect him for it. It’s call continuity and it shows. If the HC was calling the D, you can bet your hind side the Bucs would see 8 different DBs by now. Coach Taylor understands it take time for things to gel. He does not call out players in an interview. Next, the HC calls out the receivers, but he is the one who pulled the starters in the first qtr of the opening game. He replaced all of them in 15 minutes for dropping a couple passes and getting a couple penalties. Buc fans - your team is learning a new system, under a new OC, with a new QB. You have to give them time to gel. Yes, the QB and receivers did not look good that first 15 min, but remember the opener last year. #9 dropped a few balls and #4 had a huge penalty on a run play. They went on to have good seasons as the primaries. In fact, #20 scored the first TD and #89 scored the second. #15 had a good opening game this year and a very solid year last year, yet he was also pulled in the opener this year even after he scored a TD.

I would like to see what #7 can do since he is familiar with the SoCon. I would also like to see what the original starting receivers and TEs can do with ole #7 behind center. I believe the O-line is much better and the addition of the RBs will help in league play. But what I cant understand is why you made the decision to change the entire skill gap, and then stayed with the replacements this long… Other than the opening game against a last place DII school, there has not been any production (other than #14) from any of the players the HC has replaced. This makes no sense. You stick with the QB through 3 games of poor play and then call him out. You replaced the entire skill gap after 1 qtr and called them out, but the guys you put in have not showed up, so, who’s next? The O that was no the field the past two weeks are worse than the O I saw last year. How about you own up to a mistake and put #7 back in and give the receivers you pulled a legitimate shot? If not, I see a long season and a lot of finger pointing from the HC... Good Luck

Thanks for your perspective. As a fan, I think there is hope if changes are made that a more productive offense can be produced. Put that with our good defense and we can begin to compete in the SoCon.

Bigger - Stronger - Faster. It’s on this coach to go out and get the talent to win now, not just show up and look the part. Am afraid prior staff did not recruit sufficient numbers of FCS players, and employed an old model for a start-up program that just didn’t cut it in today’s game. This has been discussed to death — but the young Kennesaw coach from Ga Tech employed the right model if winning is the goal. Sanders is dealing mostly with what he inherited, obviously. He’s got to recruit, recruit, and recruit, obviously. Why wouldn’t the Steve Forbes approach to rounding up basketball players work with rounding up football players?

One bright spot, the other Temple transfer Jared Folks won SoCon DPOW. He has made an impact the first three weeks. Much better than Marchi has played.

Based on how he played last year, I know darned good and well that Herink can compete in the Southern Conference. He was gritty as heck against Furman last year, although the game wound up getting away from us.

I've supported the idea that if someone comes along is better, that Herink sits. At this point three games in, I'm not convinced that someone exists on this team.

52-50. VMI put up 50 in Cullowhee. The put up 24 on us in Lexington and 24 on Akron in Ohio.
