A win tomorrow would tie the program record for consecutive home wins.

Sorry, just being straight forward in how I feel at the moment. Whether it’s right or wrong.

I happen to agree with everyone you said.

RE: What Tulane Fans Are Saying
The Tulane game was a prime example of Watson being Watson, but even had we gone 11-1 that year, we were still heading for a cliff because the 2001 BoT imposed "Recruiting Death Penalty" had left a team with a really good upper class of players that committed before Black Friday and a hollow shell of a team behind them.

RE: What Tulane Fans Are Saying
So far FBHC Clark has an overall 15-12 record at UAB (9-6 since The Return). Considering what he inherited in 2014 and then the two season hiatus, I am optimistically supportive of what I see right now. UAB will be in a rebuilding mode for at least the next couple of seasons. Getting to play in the new BJCC stadium will be a big boost for the program too.

I expect ticket prices to rise then at least 50% and at least the same premium program for the best seats as UAB now charges for equivalent location seats at Bartow Arena. When you want to play on even terms with our best competitors, we have to pay the going prices to get that quality of results.

UAB was ranked #25 in the BCS going into that game. Win it and we stay there - climb maybe. UAB never sniffed that sort of attention before - and did not afterwards until it was attention for the December 2014 travesty.

man, what an awful trip. went with one of my good HS friends that worked for one of the bowl games and was sent there to evaluate. watched us play zero defense in a below average high school stadium. got in a big fight with my (at the time) girlfriend...the beginning of the end for the program and that relationship (Disclaimer: one of those things ending was a great thing)

It was a day for fighting. That was the game where our band director got in a shouting match with our fans.

Ehhh.... I'd probably get in a shouting match with someone also if they grabbed one of my students standing on a podium and shook his leg. Same guy almost had over 100 band members on him when he grabbed said band director.

Make sure we tell the story both ways.

It was Cajun he is a good guy and a loyal fan. His argument was correct. The Band Director had the band playing while we were on offense. His response was wrong and he apologized. I cannot believe I'm taking up for Cajun.

RE: What Tulane Fans Are Saying
Yeah, I’m sure a judge would accept “band playing while on offense” as an acceptable defense to assault.

I’ve also seen him attack a fan at a basketball tournament who was trying to score some discounted tickets from fans of a team that had just lost.

“Good guys” don’t lose control like that on frequent occasions.

Fans gotta be involved on defense from the start. Given a noon start time and the uncertainty of which way the hurricane is going to go, I’d imagine the crowd won’t be all that great. I’ve been wrong on the crowd already this season, but that performance in Conway did us no favors.

As far as Tulane goes, they got our spot in the aac. Them, ECU, and Tulsa had no business getting the invite. Had we been allowed to build our OCS, we’d been taken ahead of them.

Tulane, everybody there, should feel they’re above us. Regardless of where they stand head to head against us in terms of athletics. They’re in the better conference and they’ve taken guys out of our backyard. we’d have the same mentality if we were in their shoes. same thing just happened vs CCU.

We should have a great crowd. Weather looks great with not a cloud in sight. Tulane is bringing their band and should bring maybe 4-5k. Expecting 27-30k total. If anyone has tickets that they don’t need I can put 3 more butts in seats. Already helping bring 8-9 people. Go blazers!

I've been to Tulane games in New Orleans that didnt have 5k Tulane fans there. So I'll need to see that to believe it.

You nailed it.. Drop 2 0's and you may have a number closer to the truth about their attendance yesterday, other than the band.

It was an interesting read. They did raise a valid point (that worked in our favor, though)...from what I've seen in the last two games, UAB seems to have a LOT of trouble stopping the option, regardless of variety (triple, spread, etc.). Coastal gashed us on that front, and Tulane seemed to have a lot of success when they used it. I hope it's something that the coaches can address before other teams use it to our disadvantage.

If I were a team on our schedule and ran any option, I'd be polishing up on it before facing us.

Triple option is difficult to defend, because no one can freelance. Everyone has to stay with their man, no freelancing. One guy out of position and they gain fifteen or twenty yards. Our guys don't see it enough to get really good at defending it.

It doesn't even have to be an option. Anything off the edge gives us trouble so far.

I only read page 1, and this quote was classic.

Quote:In Year 3 of one's tenure, you must be able to beat a team that didn't literally exist in Year 1 (2016).
