Not sure what my expectations were before, but ODU FB is now a freight train. A derailed one. Carrying a full shipment of melted cheese. On a hot summer day.

I think if Marshall can get all the pieces in synch and improve on special teams, we will challenge. If it takes too long for this to happen, bowl game will be best we can do. We should have best Miami by 21 and should habe ran away last night. Correct special teams and quick gel time, we are in good shape. Keep making same mistakes and a bowl is all we can ask for. Pieces are in place, just have to figure out how to make the engine go.

For UTSA, I'm sticking with what I said before the season started, which is 4-8, even though our conference, overall, seems to be down this year. Still not sure what to make of our OC, but our defense has taken a major step back after our DC was taken by Alabama.

I am very happy with where UNT is at right now. I wish our running game was better, but we lost our back to the NFL so there is always some adjustment. We’ve got it narrowed down to 3 guys for starter.
Nic Smith: prototypical RB.
Deandre Torrey: came in from JuCo this year. VERY fast (returned a KO 96 yards for a TD against SMU) but is short (5’6 maybe 5’7).
Loren Easly: Came in from FCS SFA. More of a big bruising back type.
We’re on the road @ Arkansas this week. We are 7.5-8 Point dogs, so it’s not impossible that we pull off the upset.

Before the season, I looked thru my blue colored glasses and speculated that if Li'l Stock was healthy all season we could be 10-2. And I predicted if he got hurt MT might be 4-8. After 10 sacks of our QB and our defense giving up about 33+ points per game; that 4-8 ain't too far-fetched.

I’m thinking 4-9, 5-8 for Rice still.

I think we’ll definitely beat ODU and UTEP... We should be favored against UTSA and UAB at home and slight dogs to USM on the road. Hoping for two out of those three. I’m not counting LA Tech or FIU as L’s but would be surprised if we won either.

UNT, Wake, and LSU are all going to be huge challenges.

I was in the stands for the collapse vs. Maine (up 21-0, lol, what a troll our coach is).

My expectation for our game vs. Louisville?

I will be in the stands again, but this time I will have a DD so I will drink every time UofL scores (or every time we give up a sack, either way, I die).

I expect old dominion to finish the season with a win against vmi. Might be the only win we see this year

You guys play us this year. Don't be discouraged if we take an early lead, our vanilla offense is easily deciphered. We will be lucky to have positive yardage in the 2nd half.

And to top it off it our players have no self control and will probably continue to lead D1 in dead ball personal fouls/unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.....but maybe those are the ones that graduated 03-idea

My 7 win max expectations (counting a bowl game win) was lowered after Saturday's game to now unless we pull a miracle. I had us beating ULMonroe but after the loss I only see us winning possibly 4 more games max to finish 5-7. The defense played better than the score indicated as our offense handed UL Monroe their 1st TD with a turnover on the short 9, and then our offense had 3 more turnovers afterwards. Regardless, with our OL lack of blocking I don't see us beating anyone that has anything that resembles a defense.

Yeah but we don't make halftime adjustments and we haven't scored a single point in the second half.

Beat me to it.

We'll have a chance at pulling out a win against Clt, Rice and WKU maybe. We'll beat VMI. The rest we'll get beaten badly.

I say 2-3 wins.

Wish I had seen this sooner. Good topic. As crazy as some may think I am for expecting this from a program that got set back on purpose by its governing body and is starting over. But , after what they did last year, I fully expect the UAB Blazers to be in contention for the division and play in the Conference USA Title game. And when you have a coach like UAB has in Bill Clark, he inspires players and fans alike...To aim high...

Bill Clark didn't have his team ready for Coastal. Week 2 would have to be an anomaly for UAB to even finish 3rd in the West.

You say this like the same thing didn't happen last season.

+1. Better than my early season prediction of 2-3 wins. It’s nice to have a coaching staff that looks competent.

The only teams in CUSA that I think would have a chance to beat Hawaii and UH in the 4th Quarter right now are FAU, UNT and Marshall. Somehow Bloomgren had us in those games so I’m feeling optimistic.

I thought my projection of 4 wins was generously optimistic. Now I think it may well be conservative.
