Sellout Streak ends at 60
Per Harry Minium: ODU's sellout streak is over at 60. Announced crowd of 19,243 at the 20,118-seat Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. Problem wasn't tickets sold, but students not picking up their full allotment.

This could be a blessing in disguise.

Thankful this is over. Way too much focus and energy on a “sellout” that in reality was meaningless. On paper looked great, but quite a few seats empty every week.

What I wouldn't give for the DeMarco/ TH era right now. The game day atmosphere was great back then.

Same. Athletics had been using The Streak as a crutch for far too long. Now they will have to actually market the program to sell tickets. After the last two games that may amount to alchemy though.

No shocker there. A combination of weather and performance.

I think this might speak to a bigger issue that a lot of us have seen from a distance. It appears we are right in the administration is doing a poor job at engaging the students. The sellout streak was dropped because the students didn't claim their tickets... Dr Selig has been pressured by the big donors to keep the streak going, and he failed.

Good. I hope the fire his mediocre, no vision butt.

And lack of the admin’s ability to develop a great vision and then execute it.

The sellout streak was window dressing; now that it's done, there's no reason to bend over backwards to inflate a dodgy statistic for the sake of a now-nonexistent accomplishment that hasn't impressed anyone outside the administration building in a long-ass while.

Agreed - folks regularly attending the games know there hasn’t been a real sell out since probably the Norfolk State playoff game.

Those same folks know there hasn’t been a home crowd as loud and engaged since that game as well.

Aside from VT, I wonder if we will sell out any other games this season?

There is absolutely no way we sell out a single game after Virginia tech. The worst has yet to come for this team. It’s going to be absolutely shameful to trot this team out there to play against those guys. It’s gonna be one of those disasters so good you won’t be able to look away

NC State? I know we got blown out but that was the biggest crowd for an ODU home game I had ever attended. But in regards to beginning to end, I would say the Georgia Southern home game in 2012 was the best atmosphere we've ever had at a home game, even though we lost (it was a year after NSU)

Listen to that crowd. Man, I miss those days. That team looks great on the video too. I truly think they'd beat the Monarchs of today.

Still hurts that we lost that game. We were the better team. Of course they recover the fumble in the end zone.

Weren't there a couple questionable 4th down calls in that game?
