How's New England in November? I'm still thinking about making the trip for the BYU v. UMass matchup on Nov. 10.

Pot luck, you can never predict it. Of course you can get some insurance and get Putnam Suite tickets.
If you make it, your invited to our tailgate.

Personally, I was hoping Pinkham would have stayed as DC. The past is the past. I'll be rooting for UMass tonight.

Thanks, 63 -15 with a lot of second and third string in. The tables could be flipped next week, we'll see.

Yup, attendance is always a trailing indicator as we had 6 bad seasons and last years 4 wins was the most every.
We beat both teams from our history with the FCS championship game. App State and Georgia Southern, but those games were half our wins with BYU the third.

The students will be back after Labor Day and at least a few thousand will show up. We have three straight road games so if we can win a few, fully expect a better showing.

The doesn't sound like they'll be rubbing shoulders with Temple and UConn in the near future.

Kent St and Buffalo more likely after Ohio moves from the MAC.

There is a reason why we didn't apply to the B12 like NIU did. That is because we committed to backfill for the AAC.

They told us as long as our football is decent, we'd have the basketball to write our own ticket. Our football has been more than decent lately.

RE: UMass Football
If were to compare the two schools as candidates while the academics are a push (both AAC/P6 worthy), athletically Ohio is in a much better position.

FB record past 5 years:
Ohio (38-27)
UMass (13-47)

FB Stadium Capacity:
Ohio 27,000
UMass 17,000

BB Arena Capacity:
Ohio 13,000
UMass 9,500

#1 thing Ohio is a very good FB/BB recruiting state where UMass is poor in that regard. AAC already has UConn FB in New England and for any conference 1 team in New England is plenty.

Personally, I'd rather stay in the MAC unless its a noah's ark situation where staying in the MAC means moving down to FCS. But at least I know we will find a spot on the ark. Maybe a best of CUSA/MAC/SBC situation which would be my preference over the AAC.

IMO UMass is a good fit with Buffalo, Kent St and Eastern Michigan in football, other disadvantaged brands that can make a bowl once in a while but that is about it.

RE: UMass Football
Does the win over Duquesne count toward bowl eligibility for UMass? Seems like their conference only permits 45 football scholarships, which is below the threshhold (90% of the FCS max of 63).

Are you high? Win a championship in football and then talk about leaving.

Who is the media day preseason favorite to win the MAC this season?
