3rd PPG - Titus Rubles 7.3
4th PPG - Shaq Thomas 6.8
5th PPG - Jermaine Sanders 5.7
Caupain / Guyn split PG duties at 20 minutes apiece and dished out a combined 3.2 APG
This past season Broome / Jenifer split PG duties at 20 minutes apiece and dished out a combined 5.3 APG
If Jarron Cumberlan does an nice SK imitation and Tre Scott does his best JJ imitation...this current team has more depth than that 13-14 squad IMHO.
I think the big wildcard is the bigs. If we can consistently play through and not miss a beat with Scott, Brooks, Nsoseme, Diarra I think this team can be really good. One underrated characteristic of MC teams has been the bigs' passing ability. Washington was a good passer but he refused to because he shot like 80% with that hook shot.
Cumberland staying healthy all season scares me though. Guard depth makes me nervous and you never really know until you know.

100% Agree with both assessments.

RE: 2018-19 Hoops schedule
Defense should be a top 10-15 type defense again though I doubt they get to last year's level on that end. Clark and Evans were so great and so versatile on defense, they had UC playing better on that end than any Bearcat team I've ever watched. I think this team can be a top 25 team, but a ton is going to have to go right as far as development for them to be any better than that.

This year's team could be a very poor free throw shooting team. Brooks, Nsosome, Scott and Diarra have each shown poor free throw fundamentals, Cumberland underperformed at the line last year and Broome and Jennifer are adequate, but not at the Evans or Clark level. Hopefully Fredericks will be good. I expect Cumberland to improve to 75% or slightly better. Hopefully Broome can get to that level as well because I expect Cumberland and Broome to be the ones that get to the line most frequently. We'll need every point we can get.

I think the defense can be better then last year. Just listened to Cronin's interview on about the Canada trip and he says we should be better at defense and rebounding. He had praise for the bigs on the defensive end and Fredericks. Says our bigs are more athletic then last year (Clark and especially Washington weren't great athletes).
Brooks/Nsoseme will be an immediate upgrade at defensive/rebounding.
Scott/Diarra are better athletes then Clark was and Scott should be near/at Clark's level at defensive/rebounding quickly.
Fredericks is supposed to be a very good and tough rebounder, who can play the 4 in a small lineup. I don't think there will be much if any drop-off at defense/rebounding from Evans. Plus Williams/Moore will have another year of experience.
As long as they don't get discouraged by a lack of scoring, I see our defense finishing top 5 and possibly number 1 in the nation. I am higher on this team then most people though. I expect us to be top 5 at defense and both offensive and defensive rebouding... Though scoring will be another story.

Our defense was number 2 in kenpom adjusted defense and one of the best defenses in the last decade. I'd be shocked if they're better on defense this year

Almost wish that game was at Milwaukee. Fun town, and I like any excuse to pick up some more Spotted Cow beer.

Yes. Finally released today . Besides whats been officially announced expect an NKU date , a couple Ark Pine Bluff types and a slightly odd starting time for the Ohio State opener.

I think we are only missing one game from the non-conf schedule that the schedule release will fill in.

Now that, gentlemen, is about as strong an OOC schedule as it gets. Kudos to Mick and the Staff!

Trying to convince the wife that she'll be ok taking care of the daughter for a couple days while me and a few friends head to Vegas for the UC UNLV game and gambling on football.

Hell, even George Mason, NKU, and Milwaukee represent much higher quality games than the handful of 300-plus RPI teams littering the schedule over the past few years.
